Autumn Internationals

Autumn Internationals - 10/11/2018 14:07

Interesting set of Tests today.
Fiji so far, certainly giving Scotland time to "think again" at Murrayfield???
Wales need to beat Australia.
England v New Zealand will tell us whether England have any chance in 2019!

Scotland need to be able to beat a side with "15" players though....

Remarkable that Stuart Hogg has recovered from his ankle injury in such a short time!

I like the way that Gregor Townsend encourages his team to be creative smile

I think of Gregor as a top coach.
Scotland are good to watch again.
Bit of class just now by Laidlaw!
Beginning to look one-sided just now!

Is that a spoiler alert!?!
I cancelled my Sky in protest of Murdoch a few years ago!

I'm watching England highlights later, no results please!

Cracking game at Murrayfield, fantastic to see all players given free rein on the back of good discipline - well done GT smile

Close but no cigar....England recover their mojo.

Yup - no spoilers. I’m in Malaysia and just read the BBC text coverage of the first half before sleep got me. But it was a building game

Oops Mrs! - Simon & I were waiting for the BBC highlights - both being too tight to pay for a Sky subscription.
I hadn't seen your post from Malaysia! blush
I have the same issue on here with F1!

Wow, awesome game - Ireland v New Zealand!
Superb Irish defence - sets things up nicely for Japan 2019 WRC!

Re: Autumn Internationals - 18/11/2018 14:02

Just watched this IRL/NZ game on All4 - one of the best rugby contests I've ever seen. The stamina of those guys was astonishing considering there wasn't a "slack" moment at any point in the tie.

Fantastic crowd too, shaming some ill-mannered booing during SA's place-kicking at Murrayfield.

Great weekend feast all-round though, and Japan.....have you ever seen people move so fast!

Great game in Dublin yesterday. It's been a long road for Ireland and is supporters.
The big question is if we can hold on to our coach now. I think and hope he will stay at least until after next years World Cup on Japan.

The kiwi coach will be reflecting and making a career decision after these autum internationals are finished which is a bit of a worry for Irish fans.

Yes, just as Hanson did his time with Wales, I would suggest Joe Schmidt would be a shoe-in replacement for the job with NZ- all post WRC19 though.
I would have thought coaching the British Lions would go against Gatland for now?

Re: Autumn Internationals - 26/11/2018 19:21

Enjoyed Japan v Russia for an entertaining match at Kingsholm on Saturday.
Watching the highlights of England v Australia and thought England now look to have real physical power up front and in the backs!
Well done to Wales on their clean sweep with a dogged win over South Africa.
Japan WRC 2019 looks a great prospect.

Re: Autumn Internationals - 27/11/2018 17:05

I have almost put going to Japan out of the question now. I have been to the last five world cups and Japan looks like we(Ireland) stand a good chance to make at least the semi finals.

Lots of pals are going and it's a temptation but the cost is sky high.

I think the home nations look in good form and the six nations should be high standard rugby.

Ireland coach leaves after the World Cup and it looks like Farell taking over. That should be interesting.

That's impressive magooagain. bow
With good fortune, I managed to get to Wales 1999, Australia 2003, France 2007, England 2015, but sadly not New Zealand in 2011!
Saw some great games along the way and with a few mates, we had a fantastic time.
I suspect Japan will be a trip too far, but it is certainly looking promising in terms of being a potentially great tournament. idea
