Alfa owner forum - 02/03/2012 23:50

I have to say, whilst it has considerably more members than fccuk, it's actually a bit shit.

Some of you will be aware I bought an alfa gt a few weeks ago, so made myself a member of their forum. Barely any response to my questions and little information available on the car I bought. Just goes to show how good fccuk really is, it really does make other forums look second rate.

Me too. As a hardened life-long Alfisti, it says a lot that I'm on here often and on there about once a year. I am a regular (and a mod) on the AROC forum. That forum, though, is a bit more biased towards the older stuff that people like me are more interested in.

same user name as on here.

I find the layout annoying and the site itself is very slow to load up, especially if I only have my phone with me and don't have a great reception.

Re: Alfa owner forum - 03/03/2012 09:21

morning all . I agree that the fccuk forum has a vastly superior tech based pool of minds to gleam info from but the people on the alfa forum are just the same broad range of peeps old and young ,loaded and poor (v6 owners are very poor) and organise some great mini meets and major meets/days out.

The 166 forum on there is very good.

Re: Alfa owner forum - 04/04/2012 23:28

I guess its because Alfaowner deals with every model, whereas fccuk deals with only the Coupe. Therefore it is obviously going to be more specialised.

Re: Alfa owner forum - 05/04/2012 20:23

I find Alfaowner ok, although it isn't as good as it used to be.

Re: Alfa owner forum - 05/04/2012 21:30

AO also seems to be a huge marketing tool for certain specialists with mods getting in on the act.

Makes the "issue" nigel had look like a joke!

Re: Alfa owner forum - 05/04/2012 23:10

I am on both, and Alfaowner is great for fault finding etc. If you join the local forums, i'm in the Lincolnshire one, it can be pretty interesting too.

As Alfa Male says, because there is such a wide range of cars to cover it's less specialised.

Taking that aside, i prefer being on this forum, feels more like home, the people are great and the layout is much nicer.

It doesn't help that they lump all the cars together under platform. That puts the GT 3.2v6 in the same section as a 147 1.6 TS

Re: Alfa owner forum - 09/04/2012 16:30

That's Alfa's fault for not calling it the GT GTA.

Re: Alfa owner forum - 09/04/2012 19:36

TBH a fair few GT owners knock about the GTA section.

I dont see a much better way of splitting things up either.

Agree with the above. The Brera is lumped in with the 159 & 946 (I'm not even sure which cars they are) rolleyes

But this forum is second to none smile Maybe because it's generally one make/model (if you don't count those NA's and 16V's laugh )there is more input on other matters. I certainly still come on here just as I have always done

Re: Alfa owner forum - 09/04/2012 21:03

I still hop on to this now and again:

http://forum.alfa156.net/forum/

...from my 156 owning years. No real GT section but the owners there have a similar sense of humour......

Alfadriver.com is also worth a look. a bit more laid back than alfaowner.
