Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 02:03

Just sorted out my insurance for the year and I got it down to £568 F/C with my NCP . I have 7 years NCB, a perfect driving record and I’m 25 . The amassing part of this quote is that it covers my misses (22 with 2 years NCB and a clean licence) .
I'm well happy . Now I don't have to be sitting in dog fur in a cr@py VW Golf when we go out and I want a drink .

Thanks Noel Dazely providing the misses doesn’t bin the car!

There are soooo many posts stating how brill Noel Dazeley have been.

IMO they have become the forums choice of Insurers..

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 14:51

No one came close

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 15:34

I am with them at the Mo, but as yest havent declared any mods!!

Does anyone know what they are like with mods? My insurance is high enough, so hope they are not too bad!!

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 15:36

They're not too bad with mods, mine went up by £60, for an increase to 270 bhp + 3 points

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 15:57

They quoted me 10% on top of my quote of £400 for my mods, so not bad at all.
I'll be going with them when my renewal comes round.

One of the lads in work has just bought a fully modded new shape beetle, ex-yokohama show car, full bodykit, VR6 engine transplant from new, ap racing 4 pots and custom interior, chipped engine with modded exhaust and induction kit and it's a left hooker.
He's 25 and they insured him for the sum of a grand, bargain I thought.

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 15:58

So do i tell them:

Have EVO Chip, Induction Kit, After market alloys, (soon to have Coilovers and 3" turbo back exhaust by the time of renewal)

Or would this be crazy?

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 16:43

Just tried Greenlight (£1300!) Adrian Flux (£900) and finally Noel Dazely who came up trumps with £650.

This is fully comp for an LE, all mods declared and wife driving too. I am an old git at 43 but I only have 2 years NCB otherwise I supsect it would have been much lower.

Well done ND - the guy I spoke to - Paul - asked me to post regarding their quote and I am happy to do that.

Re: Noel Dazely - 21/02/2006 17:06

I am just 21, with soon to be 3 years ncb and i am paying £1700 at the mo, with out any mods declared with Noel Dazely!! Madness!

Re: Noel Dazely - 23/02/2006 22:09

Because I'm lazy and don't want to bother these guys can someone (with a policy) tell me if, if you are over 25 whether you can drive other vehicles 3rd party, and what restrictions you have.

I know less and less insurers are offering this service now and am interested only because I want to be able to drive my old mans car from time to time and it would also be good if I can drive any friends car home from the pub should he have had too many pints.

Thanks.

p.s. JayB: Declare you're mods or you'll not be insured mate. what's the point paying £1700/year for nothing?

p.p.s. My quote came in at £618 (12 months | 25 yo | 20VT (R) | 3 points (3+ yrs ago) | 1 x crash | GF & mum on ins | driveway | 3 NCD | no mods )
Pretty good I thought.

Re: Noel Dazely - 23/02/2006 22:20

They're a broker so you'll find that each of us may well be insured with a different company and different rules may apply.

However, I think in most cases if you are insured fully comp you are allowed to drive another car provided you have the owners permission and that car is also insured.

Just to add, ND are very good and easily the cheapest I have tried. Greenlight couldn't quote me due to my highly dangerous Leeds postcode!!!

Re: Noel Dazely - 24/02/2006 20:44

When i was insured with HIC i could drive any car 3rd party and i was only 21, so took them up on the offer as it was only an extra £7 for the option. I was only insured on my main car TPFT

Re: Noel Dazely - 26/02/2006 02:06

Yep, they were best for me too.

But what are they like if, heaven forbid, anyone has had to make a claim? Has it all been a hassle-free experience?

Whether you have 3rd party cover for other vehicles generally depends on the underwriter and not the broker - some polcies have it as standard, some as an option and some not at all.

If your policy has it then it's unlikely to be restricted by your age.

It only applies to cars that are not owned by you or leased to you under an HP arrangement and you must have the owner's permission to drive it. There's a common misconception that the car must be "properly" insured by the owner for your 3rd party cover to apply, but I've never seen anything in a policy document that says that (this may change later this year, due to changes in the law).

In recent years some insurance companies have tried saying that this cover is for "emergency" use only and does not cover regular driving of another vehicle. Again, I've yet to see anything defined in a policy document to support this.

Got to agree with this, also in the event of a failed claim, ND may no longer look at the Coupe as a Worthy car to insure and we will all have to look elsewhere.

BTW, renewed last week for £465 29yrs, 7/8 yrs ncb, clean licence.

Re: Noel Dazely - 27/02/2006 17:44

Yeah a few of the mods i have not had done yet anyway. My renewal is 15th March, not getting zorst done till 17th, but will put it on anyway.
At the mo ND are falling way behind a quote from Admiral. Proposed renewal from ND is £1389, thats with me being 21,3 yrs NCB, without declaring the mods soon to be done and inc alloys.
Admiral quoted £1116 with all present and near future mods declared!

Waiting for a call from ND....

Re: Noel Dazely - 27/02/2006 20:12

I'm with Admiral at the moment but Noel have just quoted me happier. Never heard of them before but I'll go with them....

.. thanks to the power of FCCUK

Sounds like Admiral are very competitive. I wouldnt have even been able to afford coupe a 21! You luck man

Forget to add, my coupe is standard apart from Bailey DV30.

Re: Noel Dazely - 27/02/2006 23:39

Yeah think admiral may be my best bet at the mo unless ND come back with an outstanding quote!
I can only just afford the coupe shippy! But its worth every penny....when things are going OK anyway!!

Re: Noel Dazely - 02/03/2006 04:07

well still looking for a coop at the mo. got a quote from Noel D of £685. 31yrs old, 6yrs ncb, 3 points, no accidents. suprisingly it is higher than Halifax my present insurer offered £645 when i eventually manage to get the car im after

Re: Noel Dazely - 02/03/2006 23:36

I think ND are very competitive on modded cars, while you may find mainstream insurers do well on standard ones

Re: Noel Dazely - 05/03/2006 16:29

Who are they using for underwriters?

The proof of the premium is how claims are handled. Anyone got any feedback on this?

Re: Noel Dazely - 06/03/2006 15:53

ND's quote was £525.

Admiral's was £528 before adding the 3 point I got recently. When I told them the price went up to £728

Re: Noel Dazely - 06/03/2006 20:18

Just tried ND, but they won't quote because I travel to NI for work sometimes, even though my car is very securely parked and I have a 'company' car to use.

Yes, I noticed Admiral are very points-unfriendly. They quoted £1,300 for me.

Re: Noel Dazely - 08/03/2006 20:04

Just re-newed my insurance with ND. Didnt go with the Admiral quote as ND price matched it. So i now am paying £1,065 with all mods declared, 21yrs old, 3yrs NCB.

Not that bad i dont think....

Re: Noel Dazely - 18/03/2006 14:52

Noel Dazely had the best quote for me when I shopped around a couple of weeks ago. £520 protected no claims with all the extras (legal protection, hire car etc).

That was for 7 points, kept on driveway, used for commuting, no accidents, one glass claim, 7 years no claims.

But now Privilege, my existing insurers, have come up with a belter of a quote. £477.75 all in.

I haven't got back to ND or the others yet to see if they can beat it but I'll be surprised if they can.

Re: Noel Dazely - 18/03/2006 15:14

Give them a shot and try barclays as well
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Noel Dazely - 18/03/2006 16:09

Ah, hang on, I've remembered Privilege don't know about my points yet (I did mention them in an unrelated phone call before but they just told me to tell them at renewal time).

So I suspect ND will still be best...

Re: Noel Dazely - 30/03/2006 15:44

Just phoned around for my insurance and ND came out top ... and by quite a long way ... nearly £100 better than the requote from my existing insurers

Another benefit of joining the forum (I'd not have come across the list of insurers otherwise)

Re: Noel Dazely - 30/03/2006 18:01

I've also gone with ND but watch the small print- if you need to use yor car in connection with your work/business you'll need to ask for this. My previous insurer included this as standard.
