Premium £186 ! - 02/08/2012 00:50
I do the same thing every time. I wait for the renewal invitation to arrive from Privilege, then go on their site and start again afresh. It's nearly always cheaper, but this time, it was exceptional. Renewal was £254. Starting again from scratch - £186 (£150 excess and protected no claims, 5K miles) for my wife and I. My wife's Zafira is also with them (2 car discount) and her premium is £205. I am 51 - wife is 52 and we're both on each others policy - go figure.

I always find your premium will be cheaper if you add your wife to the policy - even if like mine she never drives it!

Agreed the wife takes around £100 off my policy. £186 is a bargain though!

Maybe I should turn lesbian and find a wife?
Premium should drop from the usual £450 ish to £350 ish then

I got £255 base cost (including legal and personal accident cover) from Adrian Flux and their 'in-house' insurance company Trinity Lane - Fully comp., owner driver only, <5K, new policy (i.e. 0 NCB), but 3rd with them, so both multi-car discount and forum/owner's club discount, too.
This was for a lowered, modded exhaust, breathed on by flea, with Dawes Device MBC, 1999 Sprint Blue 20VT. I was gob-smacked.

It doesn't work the otherway around. I'm on a classic policy so the wife has to put me on her insurance so I can drive the Alfa, which puts her premium up..!
