Just noticed its the one that KTM is selling.

Dont have the link but search for fiat coupe 2000 and you will see it on fleabay. The Advert says £600 to take it off his drive.

Plus on Ebay

Saw it last night.

I was considering a trailer today. I thought KT would buy it as it is in his neck of the woods.

You snooze you loose.

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 23/11/2010 19:37

and i have put it straight back up for sale as its too much extra work for me, i just havent the time or the spare cash with my 500+ project nearing completion and bill time aproaching..
when i have gone over it all properly its too many little bits not money costers just labour and time jobs ... i would want it perfect..
overall its solid ,rust free and other than one drop link or anti roll bar (bush gone?) or similar clicking on reversing its mechanically good to go..it would be a great project for someone that wants to spend time doing one as it would be a different and smart car to end up with..and its not going to need much money going in to it just someones time ..
i only bought it because it was so cheap and i wanted the clocks, wheels and interior and would have paid the purchase price just for those..theres a £1000 profit in breaking it but again its time i just don't have it to spare so will someone please take it on it would be such a shame to break!

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 23/11/2010 21:06

its now back on ebay on the off chance i get a good offer but if not i start stripping next week i have quite a few offers on bits so i might as well..i would like to see it made good again really its a shame to see a rare coloured plus stripped and scrapped.. especially when its a late model with no rust at all..if i had bought it 3 or 4 months down the line i would have made it good for myself but the cat d thing means even if i make it good most wont want it (regardless it was light panel damage) so ill not bother doing it to sell...ah well in a way i wish it was crap then i could hapily take my bits sell enough to get my money back and wiegh the rest in..i suppose ill have to do it unhappily

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 24/11/2010 09:47

From my own experience selling a cat'd coupe is a nightmare. you can knock off at least 1k to the book price.

At £600 it was worth someone to take it and repair but add up the cat'd, No History, cambelt change required (plus brakes), dent on the bonnet, tax and mot and its just not worth it.

I can only see this car only being good for breaking. That is my personal opinion frown If it didn't have the Cat D I would have made an offer, I love energy green.

i am beginning to think its a break my self to be honest it would save all the hassle i am already getting smart arses trying to make out i am misleading people (in the for sale thread) and i don't need the hassle or head ache in fact i might put it on ebay tonight with a truthful explanation rather than the b.s the last owner put up (unless he was mislead)..i wouldnt mind i did a car checker that night and got nothing back..i did it twice then on my wifes phone and nothing..then 5 am the phones are waking us up firing text after text !
anyway i think i will just put it back at £795 with standard clocks in place laugh

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 09:47

thanks for offer but i am not going to lose money on this one! i hired a trailer and have put nearly a full day into it already ..i have offers now on most of the bits coming to well over 1k but most interesting of all i have an offer via ebay to pay in full this morning if we can agree a fair price..that might be where its at as my wife is having kittens about another breaker on the driveway as with all the car and bike bits we lower the tone already (if thats poswsible in birkenhead)..bit like the clampits..and its christmas! maybe i can wrap it in fairy lights and tell the kids its santas grotto /sliegh well maybe not they know its whats known in our house as "another bloody coop"..maybe it will save me a lot of hassle by taking a small wage on it now rather than a dragged out break...descisions descisions...

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 10:32

Makes note to self - next time I sell a car, add the value of my time picking it up and looking at it to the asking price.

If we all did the same, the value's of coupe's would increase and everyone would be happy - bar the punter looking for a bargain.

I would break it KTM, I cannot see a member paying an extra £195.00 on-top of what you paid for the car, then having to collect it and transport it to their home on-top of this price.

Wishful thinking, if you want a small wage, break it.

After all, you yourself have already factored in this 'extra' cost. Sometimes we make mistakes, don't expect others to pay for it.

I hope you take this in the vein it is meant (I'm not being nasty)

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 12:19

it was not a mistake i am in the motor trade for good reason.. i make way more than i did as a scaffolder..what was a mistake and always is, is offering anything for sale on the forum ..i honestly thought that was a cheap car that someone could have made a realy nice example of(rare at that) taxed and tested for under 1k so all in £1800 that is a very cheap tidy plus ..but as usual you guys see it in a different light altogether ..rather than an oppertunity you see it as some cheeky %^^&& making £100 and begrudge..
the nice thing about all this is i had a german tuning company mail me through ebay earlier offering me 1k pay straight away and they didn't even want me to describe the car in detail which i offered to do first( and a 900 offer locally)..they saw it for what it was .. a real cheap plus and an oppertunity...

i realised it was a mistake when i started getting the usual peevish type comments...i do this for a living..i dont have forum members doing me any favours or letting me have stuff at really cheap prices just because im on the forum ...
nearly every trader on here has made good money from me..just as you would have made a wage for your time detailing my car..or should your time be worth nothing? we can all clean our cars but dont have time or inclination so we pay you...i spend half the night on the internet when i could be doing more enjoyable stuff finding cheap vehichles and working out deals then collecting testing and going over it so i can give a genuine account of the car which was nothing like the add..that was just lies but i paid to find that out..
anyway my time has worth also and as i expected someone was not bothered about paying a premium or finders fee so to speak and just payed 1k for the still cheap plus..
that was definately and catagorically the last one i put up for sale on this site...
hooray some will be saying i know..
but three or four people are really happy and know they have had a good buy from me ..
though some of you (thankfully not the majority and this is not aimed at you patch)have such a sad an mean take on life i genuinely feel sorry for you.. what it must be like to see negative in all these situations.and always feel the need to route ourt evil in all its guises..particularly the menacing traders .it cant just be on furom you must twitch curtains
anyway its another episode over but what a palava to sell a car..
i buy and put on the autotrader every week with sometimes £800 on the price i paid but no one gives a hoot if they are happy with the van and it still below market price and a bargain they are happy to have a good van cheap.. they don't start chopsing about i shouldn't make anything out of them thats crazy you woulldn't buy anything if you were across the board with that! so is it just the on the forum you can't make money? the bonkers thing is its a peanuts cover my time amount i asked for because it was the forum! not the money that was really in the car

Point taken bar that above! I offered you a great rate on detailing your car, at least half the going price. tongue Just a shame I was called abroad.

Still, all's well that ends well with an offer of 1K & £900 you are sorted smile

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 12:33

Lets not turn this into a slagging match... KTM if you are a trader then you need to change to a trader then your prices are your prices... at the moment your seen as a forum member and therefore people wont take kindly to knowing your making profit - if infact you actually are making a profit.

This applies to everyone and is not aimed at yourself. Personal sales should benefit the wider community not someones pocket.

I have sent you a PM with details of the new traders system talked about at the AGM

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 13:18

fair point! but on a technicality it didn't happen laugh

it doesn't matter what they think anymore though i have always made it plain i am in the motor trade and we don't do it for nothing i make peanuts here but i have to make something for the time i put into it ..or its not worth finding cars buying them and offering them on what i at first thought was an enthusiast site but it isn't about the cars for most..a cheap car is a cheap car..if you are a real enthusiast that would have been a great project..but once again it became about a hundred pounds for my time..i dont do any trade for that! no one seems to get that..its just that my time has to be paid for or i cant give it to this type of thing...and now wont...the fact remains though theres 3 happy le owners and more 20vt owners that didn't care about 100 quid ..though one pulled my pants down for about 4k laugh (yes johnnybgt you :)) and there would have been more as i did it as i love messing with and being around the cars..and now other traders know they will ring on them and i just picked up what i thought was a good buy for someone but it never is about that here.. anyway..thanks for the offer of the traders section but as i said in the pm not untill it freezes ove!

KTM:

As i said... if your a trader people cannot comment on your prices and if your making profit or not. Anyway you have made your decision, thats fine.

Everyone:

If your not a trader and seen to be selling lots and lots (outside of a personal capacity) then its expected people are going to get annoyed. People pay to keep this community money and dont take kindly to people making money off the back of it...

Hence why the traders section was set up. Traders pay a yearly fee, and in return have access to a wide market. In that respect its win for everyone.

The forum will be requesting this action from more people. A big point raised by members at the AGM was they were not happy about the number of "drive way breakers" appearing on the forum. Some of which have never posted outside of the marketplace and some who were selling sub standard and unsafe goods.

This is something that we, the board aim to address between now and the next AGM. However without being too negative as a whole we have a very good and balanced market place. The majority of goods are of good condition and sold as listed.

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 13:35

I don't see the problem with KTM offering it at a slightly higher price. He got a good deal and his asking price is still a bargain. I remember a couple of years ago an LE came up on PH for £500. A few weeks later it was for sale at £2k-£2.5k IIRC.

I think a number of people tried buying that car (myself included) but just weren't quick enough. My point is I don't think anyone would've sold it for sub £1.5k so what is the issue if KTM adds fuel/trailer costs etc to the effect of a mere £200?

I think this is the problem.

Why should the forum, which is paid for by club members' money, provide you with a free advertising service so you can make loads of money from your motor trade business? Wasn't all this discussed at the recent AGM? Aren't traders supposed to be paying a yearly fee to enable them to advertise their business on here?

Or am I missing something... chinny

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 14:56

for a start it puts the existing traders who actually contribute to the club at a distinct pricing disadvantage, as they're paying for professional premises/equipment/advertising.

as Mario says if it's just a few people selling a few parts then there is no issue i expect, it's when someone is effectively short-changing the club AND charging the members for the privilege!

Nothing at all. I had no idea the rules on traders had changed though so that changes everything. And if that is what the club has deemed then people that use the forum will have to abide.

Plus the clocks on the plus have been removed, thats another £150-£200 on top. Thats not a dig at KTM just a correction on what you have said.

If I were in the lucky position of picking up a Cat'd plus for £600 I would strip it knowing that I could easily make double back on the parts.

Re: Cheap Energy Green Plus on Fleabay - 25/11/2010 15:34

clocks hadnt been removed in the end

anyway you must be seriously impaired if you think i make loads of money here what a laugh that is! the whole point of putting the money on was so that i wouldn't waste more time and effort for no reward the fact remains i paid for trailer hire .background check fuel etc ..i spend doing this..in truth i have lost thousands on the cars and if the fact i dont want to do it again rankles just don't buy you don't have to even get involved..why do you we are all grown ups and can make descisions as to whether we are happy to pay a premuim (which i am open about) or not

i honestly thought it should be restored and that an enthusiast would do so £800 is nothing for the car

and i have 2 children in private school ,one in uni, one in new zealand..run a large house where they all live and eat rent free, race my bikes, build rediculous costing toys and have a good life..i don't do that by making a £100 on a coupe i spent a full day on overall..you have no idea..i make an excellent wage doing what i do with my van business.. not piddling amounts here but i refuse to give up chunks of time and money anymore to give cheap cars because you guys are forum members

what about the cars i have restored/tuned and lost thousands on then? i should keep doing this for the forum?

yea right..get a life...making loads of money here my rim

Just advertise it as a private sale at the cheap price you want for it and say no more!

I'm very happy with my LE I bought off him by the way, it's a top quality coupe. smile
