Sony CD changer

Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 02:43

I have a CD headunit which is said to have CD changer controls, so I assume changer compatible

This one to be precise

There appear to be 2 or 3 Sony changers available this one looks promising but I cannot find anywhere whether these are compatible with my head-unit...any ideas if all Sony products are interchangeable? \:\?

Re: Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 03:41

A Sony MP3...I realise I can hook it up but there's no where to put it in the coupe and I find the sound isn't that great - really quiet for some reason \:\?

I think Matty fits the stuff for a living...makes him an expert in my eyes \:P

Re: Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 03:50

lmao sorry matty thought she was talking to me never seen your post

Re: Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 03:50

Yup it's my living I'm afraid. ;\)

Vicks it's up to you. If you had an IPOD, I haven't , I'd suggest getting that interface but you're a but limited with the MP3 player. Sound quality/level is variable, so one track can be just right but the next too quiet or loud.

For the T-69 changer, £130 fitted that's a great price. \:D

Re: Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 04:00

Don't say sorry!

It could be worse, you could had said something like...

"that Matty looks about 12 he doesn't know what he's talking about...."

Re: Sony CD changer - 29/05/2007 11:57

Don't worry about it cowboy \:\)

Without taking the ashtray out (which I did and then cussed and swore because I couldn't get it back in \:mad\: ) , there's nowhere really to put the MP3 player

Where is the best place to mount a CD changer in the coop boot without it jumping and also not taking up too much space?

Have you done the hack to increase the volume level Vicks? There's some EU reg about volume levels which means that all UK Sony MP3 players are limited when sold, but you can change it quite easily by going into the maintenance menu. I did mine when I first got it so I can't remember the details but you should find it on Google OK.

I agree that some tracks play louder than others, which is a pain, but if you buy the adaptor (Bockers will tell you where to get that - I have a memory like a sieve!) you get full control of the unit via the HU, and tag display on the HU too. 6 CD changer or 300 CD MP3 player...??? \:D

I've got mine mounted to the bottom of the parcel shelf in the boot, just to the right of the boot light. It's out of the way there. \:\)

My original Clarion is mounted in the same place - doesn't skip and is easy to access. \:\)

No hack done but it was bought in the US not UK so...It's loud through earphones, just not when attached to the HU with a cable \:\? I can turn both the player and the stereo up but I always forget to turn the latter down and get the fright of my life when I just put a CD on or the radio \:o \:D

None of this helps with the issue of where to put the bl*ody thing however so I'll probably go with the changer option

Will they only fit parts they've supplied?

Re: Sony CD changer - 30/05/2007 01:23

Yes. They did have another changer http://www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk/shop/So...J/Autochangers/ but it's £170 plus fitting which is a bit much (although it plays MP3 CDs)

Re: Sony CD changer - 30/05/2007 01:29

Hmmm that's an OK price but I've never understood the point of an MP3 autochanger...

It's not that much bigger to be honest, and I can't remember Sony changing the design of their leads between the head-unit and changer. \:\)

Chertsey Fitting service is available.
Your NW HD3 will sound a lot louder if you change the sound setting to Line out from headhone BTW.
