I went to Rome couple weeks ago. As you can imagine I was constantly on the lookout for a Coupe but alas did not see one! I thought I would see stacks being in the homeland:(
I did however see dozens of Barchetta's in various states of repair.
Maybe they outsold the coupe and the reason I saw so many.

A little under 58.000 were built by Maggiora from 1995 untill 2005.

In Italy was sold up to 35'000 Coupes.
But we have
- bad mechanics (up to 1000 gbp to change cambelt and water pump!)
- property tax (up to 500 gbp PER YEAR for a T20)
We have also a tax for property change.
So, when I bought my coop, I donate 760 gbp to Rome for the property change, and then 500 gbp becase I own a powerful car.
You can understand why in Italy we have less than 1'000 Coupe' T20, but a lot of Barchetta: Barchetta has 1/2 hp of the Coupe', so less less taxes.
