Playing the waiting game...*Updated with pics :)* - 30/04/2010 08:15

Today my car is going to be ready to pickup from the bodyshop and I am stupidly excited I barely slept lol!

The car's still Blitz Blue but is sporting a few new bits and pieces that I'm quite sure no other Coupe on here has yet is still very subtle.

I've been helping rub it down and prep it this week and all I can say is, painted, it's going to look fantastic!

I'm off down there at Midday and stupidly buzzing! Should be looking rather good for tommorrow and sod the weather even it does rain it should bead nicely cool

And due to popular demand here some pics of the car before and after:

When I bought her off Philiplazyjourno it had scratches on the rear bumper, paint chipping off, a big dent in the passenger door, a dent in the passenger rear wing and just needed a good tidy up. So it went into Briley Coachworks in Goudhurst, Kent to have some work done and whilst there I figured it could do with being made more unique!

Getting prepped at the bodyshop...

I even got involved with the rubbing down...

Then it went into the booth to have the base coat and FX Paint laid onto her and then laquered...

After 30 mins of baking it then came out of the booth to be flatted and mopped and the Speedlines were prepped and painted...

And then it was taken outside into the sunshine and that's when it really made me grin...

What a fantastic job. For anyone that can't spot what I had done.

The LE kit was fitted from AutoDS and smoothed into the bodywork as seen in the pics. I also had a special FX paint finish from House of Kolor applied to make it really sparkle and stand out in the sunlight.

The finish is fantastic, it goes back into the bodyshop end of the week for a final mop to bring the shine right out but I absolutely love it. A real one-off which is exactly what I was after.

Comments welcome but I can't stop going outside to look at it. Perfect!

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 03/05/2010 14:45

The Speedlines are only to be short-lived hence being satin black as I'm waiting for my Integrale Evo 2 wheels to be fully refurbed.

Thanks for the kind comments though guys, she's a minter!

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 03/05/2010 14:52

Your car really does look stunning mate, pity the sun didnt come out yesterday so i could see the full affect of the FX paint.

I really like the matt blue just before it was laquered, would be different to see a coupe with that finish.
The only problem, you wouldnt have nothing to polish!

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 03/05/2010 17:24

Looks verrrry nice. I really need a respray but jad myself convinced that it wasnt worth doing without stripping car completely (front and back screen etc) - and I cant afford that. But yours looks superb.

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 07/05/2010 00:13

Did good! I like.

Now get those Integrale wheels on it!
Evidently I sold it to the right person. I doubt it would have got to that standard again, lost heart a little after denting the door, and the £4k in bills also put me off spending any more on cosmetics!!

Looks excellent though, was my favourite colour before, now looks even better. smile

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 07/05/2010 00:17

Thanks Phil see I told you I'd love it and make it mint again! smile

The Integrale wheels are already in the refurb shop being repaired/painted so don't panic!

She is being loved matey

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 07/05/2010 06:14

Does look stunning Did's
could I possibly ask what the £££'s came to for such a wicked job?
Also need to chat with you about Dink chips and tings

Re: Playing the waiting game... - 07/05/2010 12:01

The job with the FX paint, blending and fitting of the kit and the car's repairs would cost in excess of £1800 I was told. I obviously didn't pay quite that much as I know the chap well.

Feel free to PM me Chef
