LE Register

LE Register - 19/03/2010 20:46

Has anyone ever tried to do an LE register to see how many are left? The UK shouldn't be too hard to do and obviously the non UK members of the forum would be able to give us some idea of the numbers in their country.......would be interesting.

Get people to state colour as well and then LE owners can proudly say their car is 1 of x LE's in the country.

Have you got an LE? If not don't question others efforts.

Re: LE Register - 19/03/2010 22:05

I wonder if there's something we could design that would show that lorry/bus wheel nuts were tight?

Re: LE Register - 19/03/2010 22:07

What you could do is take those yellow pointy things off from the lorries nuts, and use them for a template for something!

Re: LE Register - 23/03/2010 16:09

...if ever a thread needed 'moderating' tongue

anyway, Sugerbear's list is the most comprehensive UK list I believe : http://www.bigeye.eclipse.co.uk/Site/FIAT_COUPE_LIMITED_EDITION_REGISTER_UK.html

Re: LE Register - 23/03/2010 20:37

Lets not turn this thread into a slanging match, I owned an LE and produced a list of LE's for about 2 years ish. There is nothing to stop anyone developing a web page of there own. In fact I dont think there is anything or anyone (Even someone who does not own an LE) from developing something themselves. I still have the list somewhere.

The list was very good and I even caught someone clocking an LE so something like the above is a real help to the community. But its an ongoing effort. I have sometimes felt that fccuk could come up with something very similar, but that really isn't my decision (and not a criticism) The BMW Alpina register have something very similar where cars details can be "stored".

I dont have the time to keep the list going and I no longer own an LE. Not much point in keeping the list myself so I handed it over to a couple of other fccuk'ers. and should LE no 4 ever come up for sale (or 2 or 3) I might even come back. Until that day..

err yes, thats the point. its an ongoing project that someone needs to manage.

Re: LE Register - 23/03/2010 20:47

Like Sugerbear said!!

I have a copy of the LE register and intend to do something with it, however, I have a full time job, work away from home, a 3 year old girl etc etc etc. It will take some time, but I'm slowly (very) working on something.

There is a register thread somewhere, so long as people keep adding to it with their purchases, spots etc, I or another will have a basis with which to keep the register updated as we get on with sorting something.

I am sure it would be easy for such a list, or database, to be hosted on the FCCUK club website. It has to be managed though. Without regular updates such things quickly become obsolete.

Re: LE Register - 24/03/2010 07:17

Maybe something i can think about doing in the future, it would be nice if we had our own... at the moment its not top of my list of priorities for the website

Re: LE Register - 24/03/2010 20:36

If the club would like to take charge of it (and lets face it, there is no more obvious place for it to sit) then that woud be grand. If you want someone to maintain, it, I'm happy to help out, although I do think there should be at least two people running with it.

Re: LE Register - 25/03/2010 00:35

Good news....i'll speak with Spee closer to the time so we can work out who does what
Posted By: sugerbear

Re: LE Register - 25/03/2010 20:29

Great news. MC I was thinking of registering a site and doing it myself but if you are going to crack on with something I will leave well alone, personally I think a site that benefits all fiat coupes so a complete site with a register of both LE, PLUS, 16v etc etc would be great if possible. I even got as far as the registration page for fccukregister.org which is still available, but then bottled out as I really have too much going on to be able to do it justice.

Please bear in mind that I was also monitoring pistonheads, autotrader and ebay as well. It wasn't just a case of registering and then forgetting about it.

Re: LE Register - 25/03/2010 21:10

If Mario is willing to expand the register to include all coops I am happy to take that on if Spee is also willing.

I'm assuming we will ask members to e-mail us with the details of their cars and myself and Spee will update the site as they come in.

Then as Sugerbear says, we will keep an eye on Pistonheads, ebay, autotrader etc and try and catch as many non members as possible.

Re: LE Register - 25/03/2010 23:32

Well i think a register for each type of car may be more suitable rather than just one for LEs

eg

UK Registers

16v NA
16v Turbo
20v NA
20v Turbo
Plus
LE etc

Re: LE Register - 26/03/2010 00:10

definitely, I'm happy to add to all or just the LE register if other owners want to manage the lists their car will be on.
