After spending, literally a small fortune sorting my plus some years ago now.
i had a brief period of what I can only call driving the car like I nicked it. Most of the miles cruising sections of M and A roads looking for game victims to race. After that period of what I can only call abuse. I ended up with the big end going. Possibly too many horses with too many miles but most probably lack of care and oil starvation.
The old girls been garaged under cover for a few years.. I needed to move her for access the other day, finding that what were brand new tyres with only a few hundred miles on them were flat. Suddenly realising when was the last time I actually checked her.
So with flat spotted tyres she was pushed out into the daylight...
Oh my god what a good looking car.
Still compared to modern marks looks amazing and certainly had the performance to rival most modern sports cars...I always aimed to spank those porsches.
But in all honesty is it really worth re enginging coupes now?
She never and I doubt ever will command the price of other 90's hot hatches. The scarcity of garages and people who know the car is abig turn off. I could buy a running coupes purely to steal the engine and scrap the rest cheaper than engine replacement quotes. Just doesn't sit well..
Should I go full forged with a moderate tune and enjoy that 5 cylinder climax again lol with relative safety, just fit a doner engine and move it on for a massive loss.
But the number of times I literally got out of that car shaking with adrenaline / luck of survival and pure enjoyment. (Not condoning it but Jesus thank god I never got pulled)
Realistically for what I've already sunk in her really makes me question. My sanity thank god the misses never found the receipt.
Hmm I've spent hours contemplating what I should do. Lurking in the forum backgrounds for sometime.
