I'll be in Beausejour as well in a porto coupe.

Be as popular as 911's at Le Mans at this rate.

Not leaving until the 7pm ferry on Thursday unfortunately. Got a meeting in Berkshire all day which I couldn't change, but it does fund the trip!

Re: Le Mans 2009 - 16/06/2009 20:33

Good to meet you at the weekend Mark. I spoke too soon about not having problems with my car - drove up to the car park opposite Maison Blanc on Sunday and it overheated, the radiator fan didn't come on. Fiddled with the fuses and relays when I got back to the car after the race, added some water and all seemed OK. OK until the Gendarme and Police decided what should have been about a 1/2 mile journey back was actually 15 which meant it overheated again. Proper look once it cooled down again revealed a connection problem on the relay on top of the washer bottle and positioning it carefully meant we got home with no further problems on Monday - must go out and spray it with contact cleaner now I come to think about it!

Hope you got home OK.

Hi Andy - good also meeting you! Out of those thousands and thousands of people, having a fellow coop owner a few pitches away was great! What a bugger about the car. Classic case of 'spoke to soon'!

I was worried about overheating in the numerous queues we ended up in at various points, but it all worked well and no problems. Took well over an hour just to get out of the camp site!!

Total miles from leaving home on Thursday to getting home on Monday eve was 1001! And not a single problem from the car so i'm seriously impressed!

Although i forgot to take the car out of 1st on the train home, and leapt forwards literally centimetres from hitting a DB9! Ooooops.

Cant wait to do it all again!

Re: Le Mans 2009 - 17/06/2009 19:39

Just back from Le Mans and had agreat time. Unfortunately I also had an overheating problem, the fan didn't come on and we were sat near the entrance with coolant boiling out of the bonnet. The fuse keeps blowing, so had to rig up a quick fix by running electrical wire from the battery to the fan. There's also this weird thing that if I do short trips the car will not start and goes pop pop bang right underneath, when turning over and after a minute it starts. Apart from that the coupe was great.
We were staying in Beausejour and I saw a superb red 20vt with graphite wheels and acouple of portofino blues. It was the first time with the coupe and to see all the petrol heads with such an array of cars from classic Bentley's to gt3 porsche's was just great.

Re: Le Mans 2009 - 18/06/2009 15:52

I went down in my ink black 20vt and didn't see a single Coupe yet obviously there were loads! Was anyone in Maison Blanche?

The only problems I had were a warped disk and a faulty water-methanol injector but other than that I had a blinding time flashing past 911's and Elises etc...

Tim - not sure I would class mine as superb, but it is red and has darker than standard wheels so maybe you saw mine.

I saw a few other Coupes, mainly French registered, around whilst there. Great event again, classic next year and back to the main event in 2011!
