I currently have a JVC KD-AVX11 but the blue illumination of the buttons is starting to bug me and I would like to get something that fits in with the Coupé's interior better plus I'm getting bored of making up DVD's of music,so ideally I would like the head unit to have:- Ability to read from an SD card,I seem to remember a HU that had a card port (Kenwood maybe?),a USB port on the front would do at a push but I would prefer it to be hidden away if possible. Red (or amber at least) illumination for the buttons. Bluetooth would be nice too . Gloss black fascia,I don't want silver. Baz

Get a headunit which has a rear USB port rather than a card reader. They come with a cable which routes to the glove box rather than having a flashdrive sticking out of the front.

I got a year or so old Alpine off ebay, which had rear usb (comes with a 50cm extension cable), amber or green illumination, and can take the Bluetooth add-on I believe. Can't remember the model right now though. Bargain at £60!

Clarion FB298RBT Should be able to get it down to around £120 It has a colour choice for the backlighting, although the centre screen is white text only Takes 2GB SD cards - no CD player, but will take a bluetooth stream from a suitably-enabled device. Importantly (for me, anyway) the bluetooth phone function is VERY good - crystal-clear at both ends

4gb SD card is much easier to use than faffing around with CD's. You use a 4GB card? I thought it was limited to 2GB Or is it simply that your 4GB card is standard SD and not SDHC?

Yeah I put a 4gb micro SD card into an SD adaptor and use that. Not sure about SDHC Nigel though I'd imagine that 4gb would be max.

Thanks for the suggestions folks but I've went and bought one of those Tevion head units from Aldi that are going for £50 to try out. Ok it's not a big name but it's got a MMC slot, aux input and bluetooth connectivity straight out of the box,not many HU's can boast that, especially at that price . The only down side is the buttons are illuminated blue . Baz
