Hiya!
Just like to say Sharon and I had a great time @ The Lakes. It was great to put faces to names and drool over our fabulous cars!
The Scottish Contingent had a great trip down from Glasgow to Abington with H2YPR somewhere in the far distance although credit to him he reigned it in a bit for the next section to Kirkby.
Thoroughly enjoyed the convoy and felt good to see all the heads do a double take and then pointing "Oh look there's a couple of cars that look the same...wait a minute there's looooads of them!!!!" as we made our way through Windemere!
After lunch, which hit the spot cos by that time Sharon was feeling a bit nauseas
from the twists and turns, I witnessed loads of coupe love which I just had to join in with, as it does become rather infectious
Sharon and I then headed back, with a few others, to Windemere where we put our tourist hats on and did the old boat trip thing and ice cream etc...but then we had to get to our B&B as the lady was going out and this is where it got quite bizare
, well for me anyway, Sharon just ended herself laughing and almost had to be resusitated.
Here's the scene...
Sharon "Will I use the NavMan to get us back"
Dee " Yeah, if you want"
Sharon "Here we go..X miles to destination"
NavMan "Turn left in 30 feet"
and so it goes on quite clearly directing us
Dee "This is great, we should be back in no time"
Sharon " Aye, it's a great piece of equipment"
NavMan " Turn right at 0.3mls"
and so it goes on...but here's where it starts to get a bit suss, there is a song "Take me home Country Roads"...yeah you know the one...I can hear you all singing it..."...to the place where I belong..." yeah, yeah, no problem. THINK AGAIN!!!!
There are country roads and there are country roads... NavMan was taking the preverbial. I kid you not when I tell you I felt as if the car had been transported into the inside of a maze the hedges were so high, the roads were so narrow the hedges were acting as wheel brushes in a car wash, there were no passing places for miles and in place of white lines in the centre of the so called "road" was...GRASS!!!
I was by this time getting quite concerned
whilst Sharon continued to make a mess of my passenger seat, yeah that's right...P her little panties...laughing!
Well, we eventually got back to the B&B where I calmed down enough to get ready for a few well needed drinks. We headed off to the Whoop, where I had to pick up a bumber which SPARKYMAN had kindly stored in his room. We joined up with the crowd for some nosh and a few drinks...had a fab night with lots of laughs and some good chat which went on til the wee small hours, that is until the Portugese Barman could take no more and ejected us! Well when I said a few I really meant a few too many...
Thanks to all for making it a great day out especially:-
PAG for the organisation and badges
MABR for my bumper
SPARKYMAN for storing it
and last but not least...
COWBOY for some good crack...you're an outrage!
p.s. I'll try and post some pics once I worked out how to do it!
