@C2D - will probably have one of the boys doing some back seat driving. Will also have to take him back to Killhope now he's old enough to send down the mine!

I've been busy entertaining Mr Stella & Mr Artois for the last two days, so now I've dried out a bit I'll try to pull a plan for the day together.

My only concern is with the possible stop off in Keswick to go to the Cars of the Stars museum.

Trying to get 28 coupes parked in Keswick sounds like a logistical nightmare and potential disaster.

What's peoples thoughts on this? How many were keen on going to the museum or should we re-think that part of the day?

We need to make sure there is going to be enough places to park wherever we go.

I'm with Pag on this. I've been to the museum and it's quite good but getting poss 30 coops parked up centrally in K will be a nightmare :o. The local lad's will keep me right on this but the only shop is Mrs Miggins convenience store with 5 parking places and a disabled spot. Nah - but apart from a Co-op (and unless The Lakes answer to the Trafford Centre has materialised) there's nowt really. I think with the ferry, lunch and driving there's enough to keep it a grand day out

There is plenty of parking at the lake side in Keswick its only a few mins back to the town fron there

On the other hand,i think i agree with g-man,we are going to have a busy day and our lunch stop will probably take till mid afternoon as we are not leaving Whoop Hall until 12am.

I dont want to put a damp squid on things, but two things come to mind. One, its still the Easter holidays, so it will be busy. And two, April is mostly very wet around that area. Hope its a nice day!! Sorry for the doom and gloom. I will go and crawl back under my Coupe Again!!

I wonder if this might be a good idea,i know the route has been suggested from Whoop Hall to Keswick (lunch stop) via the A6 As a Fast route,but what about having a B team, for those wanting a scenic route,i personally would prefer the route via windermere and Patterdale through the Kirkstone Pass ?

Yup you're right what with the weather, crowds etc I'm loosing interest so I'm pulling out. On the other hand DIY, gardening, keeping the kids amused - bring the meet on!

It will be a good day!!!

And even if its raining/busy etc it will still be good to see all the coupes and members in one place!!

Have been thinking of coming along to your "BIG MEET" as would like to purchase(if can negotiate right price..lol)and collect rear bumbper lip from MABR (hope you've still got it???)at same time, however Whoop has no single rooms left.

Can anyone recommend somewhere nearby for B&B or can the Scottish contingent let me kno their plans and allow me to join???

OK, so I think this is the final plan..

The Schedule

11:45 ~ 12:00 - Arrive at Whoop Hall, Kirkby Lonsdale

12:00 ~ 12:30 - Meet, greet, general chat & coupe love in the car park

12:30 ~ 13:15 - Drive to Kirkstone Pass Inn

13:15 ~ 13:30 - Quick stop for photos at top of Kirkstone Pass if weather, time & space allow

13:30 ~ 14:00 - Drive to the pub, (The Sportsman Inn, Troutbeck, CA11 0SG), [Thanks to flyingcustard for sorting]

14:00 ~ 16:00 - Lunch for 50+ coupsters, chat & chill out

16:00 ~ 17:00 - Drive to car ferry, via Keswick & Hawkshead

17:00 ~ 17:45 - Across on ferry to Bowness (depending how busy it is)

17:45 ~ 18:15 - Drive back to Whoop Hall

18:15 ~ ???? - Become jealous of Cowboy, C2D, Solas & Taffy as they don their smoking jackets and cravats and retire their palatial surroundings for whisky and cigars

You'll notice I've ditched The Cars of the Stars in favour of longer time in the pub - I think it'll take a couple of hours to get all of the meals sorted and have a bit of time to chat.

Also, if the car ferry is going to take too long, there's an alternative route along the side of Windermere if anyone doesn't want to wait.

Whoop Hall to Windermere (A65 --> A590 --> A5074) [23 miles]

Windermere to Kirstone Pass Inn (A592) [7 miles]

Kirkstone Pass to Keswick (A592 --> A5091 --> A66) [23 miles]

Keswick to Ambleside (A591) [17 miles]

Ambleside to Windermere car ferry via Hawkshead (B5286 --> B5285) [11 miles]

Windermere to Whoop Hall (A5074 --> A590 --> A65) [23miles]

Total of 104 miles

Map is slightly different to the route I posted on the section between Whoop Hall and Windermere, as I had us going on the A5074 rather than the A591, but I'm sure we can sort that out on the day with the advice of the local boys.

Mandatory Requirements

Seat spare for any group with numbers problems. I'm up for the day but will be going home Saturday night, definitely.
Since fitting new seats no real access to rear seat, so just the copilot's chair free.
