How many were first timers Nigel? Not sure - I know there were a few trackday virgins, but not sure who they were Except for a couple of laps in the pouring rain at Curborough last year, yesterday was my first proper time out I'm happy with my times and am not competetive and was there for the fun of it, knowing I'd be crap anyway

So a little bit of video Very enjoyable day, thanks to Dan, Luke and Chrissy for letting me drive their cars... but Chrissy Appreciation to all the people who help organise these events, always so nice to be a part of. The racing at the sharp end was great. Matt, I really don't think you have found the limits of your Coupe Ecrab, loving your comittment, made to be driven these cars with plenty more to come! He may be old(er), and he may be from Brum, but he sure knows how to hussle a 400bhp Coupe round a sprint course... awesome Of course the Caterham wins the day (mapped by me don't you know ), if you haven't been out with Dave then sign up now as he's an exceptional driver (hooner when required too), especially on the bigger faster tracks!

This is one of those events i would have liked to attend but Dan, Leighton and I cant be seen in the same place at the same time or it causes a rip in the space time continuum.
How did the VIS perform Dan?

How did the VIS perform Dan? 0.03 of a second better in Leightons hands. Handled better than I expected for an almost standard car.

matt i think you could benefit from a smoother driving style like either jenson button or me, your "rag the ass off it" style just doesn't work mate. consider this advice to be free

I'm impressed Nigel and Ecrab were so close to Fishy. Wish I could have been there to give it a go.

Really pleased with my time even though it's a bit hard to judge when I was the only driver in the only 200.
I have also been trying to find a category that I could win. I think I found one.
The fastest completely standard FWD car!!

I'm not . Yes, the car is capable of going quicker that's for sure. Wish you and Dave T had been there, would have given me a time to compare with. The Coops put in some very good times.

Finally back from being away with work ... And it sounds like you all had a cracking day Some great pictures and fantastic video Glad to see that Matt didn't tame his 'enthusiastic' style at all Fishy_Dave, I'd have not given you much to compare with, I doubt, as I was planning to go along a learn from you! I'm not used to driving these 7 things fast yet!!

I spoke to Doc Frag last night who asked what the plan was for next Tuesday..... it seems their was a mix up over the date. A shame as he was hoping to give his Alfa a run. So, will we be doing another day at Curborough this year?

So, will we be doing another day at Curborough this year? I hope so, but this time, I'll firm up the rear dampers AND I'll put some fresh fuel in. I thought you were joking about high-octane fuel going off, but I've been doing some Googling and it seems you were spot on. It's called "olefinic breakdown". I learn something every day. The fuel has been in my car for well over a month, and there's no way of knowing how long it would have been in the forecourt tanks (its a small, local station where I've never seen anyone buy V-Power, apart from a couple of passing bikers. If we hold it late enough in the year, there's a chance it will be cold and damp, in which case, I expect to have my revenge against the Caterham....
