Horsham Piazza 2018

Horsham Piazza 2018 - 02/01/2018 08:04

I have received notification of this years event which will invite Fiat Coupes to display on Easter Monday 2nd. April.

This year there are two changes:
1. they want us to apply on line-

An online application form has been launched for all drivers and riders who wish to display their vehicles at Horsham Piazza Italia 2018 – this includes the facility to upload an image of the vehicle to be displayed.
https://goo.gl/Fp7Y5L

2. We are limited to about 6 cars and they will pick the entrants (although I am disputing this with them currently).More information as I receive it.

We are in a better location in the town this year and we would all hope that this event will still live up to its reputation as being friendly and fun for all.

I have just received confirmation of my coupe's place on the Monday.

Anyone else heard?

And me!

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 19/02/2018 17:42

Yes Pete I have just received mine too! However this is NOT as I had expected it to be- I was told that the entrants would be sent to me to organise. I therefore have not idea who has been selected unless they are a forum member and post here (which would be useful).

This is being to resemble the beginning of the end!

I also cannot make out where we will be parked- Swan Yard Approach (?): at least it is isn't by Argos in the far end of the town!

Since the organisers have not contacted me separately I am sure that they are organising the whole event themselves with less staff than previous years and their 'shiny new' selection software tells them who is going to be invited! This isn't sour grapes but I feel that the friendly personal touch they have had is missing so we'll just hope for the best and see what happens. I am sure that if the weather is fine everybody will be happy and forget about any problems.

It definitely says the purple zone is Swan Yard Approach. Is this a good location do you know?

Looks like we're in the red light district shocked (off of Carfax)

I can't find Swan Yard Approach on either Google or Bing maps John.
The big undercover shopping centre is Swan Walk by Carfax.

Perhaps Horsham local, Pondman may see this and comment.

Got mine as well, and have emailed back to confirm that I’m still interested in a position. Think you have to reply by the 28th Feb.

Afternoon all!
It’s been a while! I reckon it’s the location in front of “Subway” (centre of map in link). As it was/has been in the past. I think “swan yard approach” refers to the delivery area at the rear of Swan Walk indoor shopping centre. I might be wrong, but....... wink
Google Map link

If there is anything else you guys need assistance with, as and I’ll see what I can do.
I hope to come down this year all being well, be great to catch up with you all, especially you Dave (submariner) I haven’t forgotten wink
So if it’s 2 years without a Coupé does that double the bet? tongue

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 23/03/2018 16:51

Just received an email from Garry Mortimer-Cook re: Easter Monday, I imagine others have too. It seems that there are now only two days worth of car display- i.e. not on Saturday. Ferraris get the town to themselves on Good Friday and we are there on Easter Monday. The flavour of the email and attachments is much more 'corporate' than previously but hopefully all will be well with the World!?

Current weather forecast is not good but it may change in the next week or so.

Ross-since Cote has shut after their fire I'll have time to see your new "beast" (if you can trust yourself to bring it to town?

Received my email too. As you say seems to be organised with military precision but hopefull all will be OK. Just hope the weather is too!

Email received. Let's hope for good weather.

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 25/03/2018 19:40

I almost certainly won't be there as the Coupe is unlikely to be ready.

Cooperman has the Club flags for the day as he took them home from the NEC show today.

If someone is going to Brooklands' AutoItalia day it would be great if he could take the flags home with them. Otherwise I will go to Horsham in a non_Italian car to pick them up.

Yes, still planning on coming down on Monday as well as “Ferrari Friday” although with the drizzle forecast for Friday there will be less in attendance.

“It’s raining darling, I can’t possibly take the Ferrari out in this” rolleyes

I’ll park up fairly locally, en route to the Black Jug for a quiet quick drink? drink

Ross,
Will be great to see you on Monday. Why don’t we all stop for a meet up at the Black Jug?

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 30/03/2018 12:54

Given the atrocious weather forecast and my other half's woman flu (in bed for the last 48hrs) I will not be attending this year.
Posted By: Serg1

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 30/03/2018 19:15

Understand today was a total washout.

Are we wasting our time?

Forecast rain all day.
Posted By: Thunderbox

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 30/03/2018 20:21

It’s a hard call!- the forecast is pretty wet and it was certainly wet here all day so I imagine a lot of soggy Ferraris this afternoon.
On the other hand the council have said short of nuclear Armageddon the ‘show goes on’ ; all those 5 year old boys and girls eager to see the cars would be disappointed.
I intend to attend, just let me know if you can’t or won’t be attending and I can tell the organisers. If the Council cancel they’ll let us know by email.
The Piazza Facebook account looks as if they made the best of it today so here’s hoping?!

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 01/04/2018 08:48

Latest forecast is slightly better in as much as it is only 'biblical' until about 12:00 then only 'damp'! A great chance to test drive my new wellies and waterproofs!! confused

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 01/04/2018 10:38

If I use large quantity of wax maybe the car might stay clean!!!

Let's hope all the weather forecasts are wrong, and the sun shines down on us wink

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 01/04/2018 11:03

They have said that I can take my X1/9 instead, but If it's raining hard in the morning then I doubt if I will bother.

If so I may take a non-Italian and have a look round.
Posted By: Thunderbox

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 01/04/2018 13:05

It would be great to see you and the X1/9 if you can make it Pete.

Re: Horsham Piazza 2018 - 01/04/2018 15:42

I started it up this afternoon Chris so it really depends on the weather as it's not much fun in pouring rain.

I still hope to be there one way or another.

Well, even though the weather forecast was ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ depending on who’s you looked at and it was wet all day I enjoyed the day- our cars looked great, back in our ‘old’ spot in the town, other cars quite interesting, a good lunch and good see Ross and Oliver and the E63s! Thanks for video( who was that strange guy waving from the Moon grey coupe!!)
