Well after I couldnt make it to Powerstation on Saturday, I found these guys literally 5 minutes down the road from me. http://www.pjmotorsportltd.co.uk/preview.htmWell respected in the Cosowrth circles and also Evo's I believe now. Their Dyno is one which attaches to the Hubs, eliminating wheelspin /tyre losses so should hopefully give a fairly accuracte figure. I'd expect 12 - 15% transmission losses, assuming 18% fro normal rollers. So I'm booked in for Saturday morning to have a power and fuelling check completed on my standard car so I have a baseline for some mild tuning I have planned (Fleamap/GM Boost solenoid) What do you all reckon it will make? I'd be happy with 180BHP at the hubs which would hopefully be around 210 at the fly, however as most know, flywheel figures are an estimate at best Done some pre-flight checks this morning, throttle 85 Degrees of movement, no codes in the ECU. Compression is good. It's done 115000 and is running on Esso Super (97 Octane) Ben

Well I'm back Excellent service, highly recommended by myself. A few nice cars in there also, a 2 Skylines / RS2000 / Escort Cosworth /EVO etc etc. Anyway my results: 193BHP @ the Hubs @ 5523RPM 202Ft/lbs @ 2780RPM Graphs: Power Torque + AFR Boost I'm happy considering it's completely standard bar a Poweritalia SS 20V (NA) Exhaust and a Forge DV. Next things for me are GM Boost Controller / Injector Clean / Flea Mapping Any opinions anyone? Cheers All Ben

Hey Benje,
Just looking at your lambda readings, you are very lean coming on boost, in fact very similar to Carphone's standard car.
2700rpm - 12.64afr (peak torque/boost) 3000rpm - 13.38afr 3500rpm - 12.94afr 4000rpm - 12.64afr 4500rpm - 12.13afr 5000rpm - 11.95afr 6000rpm - 11.54afr
From 4500rpm you are ok, but I would be very surprised if it wasn't getting some detonation between 2500-3500rpm. Don't worry, it's not like your engine is going to go pop, you can run with mild detonation for 1000s of miles, but of course it will have an impact eventually.
Anyway, just seems odd that another standard coupe is suffering from poor fueling.

How much did they charge Benjey & how many runs did they do ? 3 Runs for £80, which seems to be a good price considering how much setting up is required (Can't just drive onto it like most rollers ) Hey Benje,

Anyway, just seems odd that another standard coupe is suffering from poor fueling. Very interesting Flea, perhaps they are all like it? (This was on Esso Super btw) Anyway, when I come to yours for a remap, I assume you will richen the fuelling up so the AFR is nice and flat? If you see on my graph, theres a biro line, where he said that's where the fuelling would be best towards the top end, what are your thoughts on this? Couple of other questions, I'd be wanting it mapped at 1.2 Bar, on my boost graph it drops away at 5000RPM, will I see similar effects when it's remapped? only with it shifted 0.2 bar upwards? Whats the big spike at 2600RPM-ish? Is that the ECU seeing rising boost and throwing loads of fuel in, then recovering again by 3000ish? Is 1.2Bar the max recomended on the standard Turbo? Is 1.4 Feasible (Not to the redline, mid range for example) Can the standard eCU offer variable boost, or would I be looking at a Greddy EBC?! Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to learn more here Thanks again, feel free to pm me Flea to discuss it. Cheers Ben

Cheers Flea, Car is OK as far as I'm aware, I read the errors, of which there were none. Temps OK etc. I think I'll get a GM Valve, injectors cleaned, then I'll ship it down to you for you to work your magic!
