Tunbridge Wells Italian Car & Bike Show + Fair - 10/02/2011 18:46

Now there were a few compaints that there was not enough notice for this event (me included!) so I think this should give all those interested a chance to show interest. I don't think there were ANY! coupe's there shocked So let's take this event by storm and show what we're all about wink
Honnington Italian Vehicle Day 4th September

Pre booked italian cars £3.00 (cheap day out smile ) / bikes £2.00

On the day:
Adults: £5.00
Children: £3.00
Children under 5 years: Free
Family ticket (upto 2 adults & 3 children): £15.00

It looks to be a friendly small scale enthusiasts event in aid of Kent Air Ambulance. Lets hope we never need it. It's also good for those who live to the right of London to have an event a bit closer to them for a change. So don't be shy sign up today smile

Re: Tunbridge Wells Italian Car & Bike Show 2011 - 13/06/2011 15:42

Just saw this post - I'm interested in attending.

Be my first show with my Coupe - before it goes in for a respray (stone chipped to hell on the front).

What do I need to do if I'm interested showing my car?

Also be good to meet up with fellow Coupe owners.

Is it too late to say 'yes please' to this? I now find that we are free that weekend and would like to go. Do I have to register with the organisers or is that too late and therefore pay on the gate?
Either way we'll go and hopefully meet up en route!

Don't worry about that, I'm taking my kids to Wings and Wheels a week before, and I'll load them with burgers and ice creams and tell them to feel the quality of the shine on his car. Whilst I put sunglasses on to protect them from the interior that lurks within tongue

Week to go now! We're on holiday this week so can make any arrangements for convoys from the west of Kent. I see Hovedan is in Maidstone so will be looking for people from Kent to link up with. For us, we can link with anyone from Horsham area or west (that's at least Pondman and Mr. T) and go on from there. Maybe Pease Pottage Services at 8:15 am for 9:00 at Tonbridge?

Re: Tunbridge Wells Italian Car & Bike Show + Fair - 28/08/2011 19:47

Be interested in joining either a convey from Sussex (Brighton area) to meet at Pease Pottage.

If not, then meeting at Pease Pottage for 8:15am is cool with me.

New & updated list:

1) Pondman - confirmed
2) Hovedan - confirmed
3) Tim42 - we will know tomorrow
4) Charlie_croker - confirmed
5) Cooperman - confimed
6) schif (provisional)

11) Thunderbox - confirmed
12) fiatcoupemad - (provisional)
13) PeteP - confirmed
14) knight 7660 - (provisional)

Coupe off the road for the foreseable future I'm afraid, I can't justify the cost of the tax and insurance to use it five or six times a year, particularly as said cost equates to at least four track days!!

We'll probably still come along to the show though and catch up with everyone.

Nope, it's your neck of the woods laugh

Off junction 5 M25 on the A21 perhaps chinny

Edit - just checked, how's about Westerham Road, Sevenoaks? About 10 miles from the venue, and just off junction 5 of the M25? AA map shows a car parking area on this road, literally just off junction 5... Say 8.30am which gives us plenty of time to drive the 10 miles to the venue?

A good day out, despite the downpour from 12.30, which finally eased off just before the ferret race at 2.30 (yes, ferret race, really!). By then, we'd lost about half of the fairweather coopsters rolleyes

Took a few iPhone snaps after the downpour;

A few gratuitous coop shots, of the 4 cars left;

Got home safe and sound yesterday aftrenoon.

Thanks to Pondman for organising and 'choreographing' the coup circle!- if only I knew my left hand down abit from my right!!!

It was great to meet everyone (most for the first time).

Very enjoyable day despite the rain- I did feel sorry for the organisers who must have lost shed loads of cash!!- Maybe not next year on that basis? Did anyone get charged anything 'cos we certainly didn't and feel that maybe at the very least I should sent a donation to Kent Air Ambulance (their chosen charity)?

My photos by and large reflect all the other (better) ones already posted so I won't show my ignorange athow to post photos now!!

Re: Tunbridge Wells Italian Car & Bike Show + Fair - 05/09/2011 17:21

I can't believe I missed the Ferret racing and Duck Herding! frown

@Cyborg7, no problems mate, that grille was only sitting in my garage taking up space, so was happy to let you put it to good use. It was great to meet you and your car looked awesome in my rear view mirror when we convoyed there. I just wish I had set up my video camera. It was funny seeing the looks on other drivers etc as 3 coupes sped down the A21.. Oh and your son's guitar looks awesome, though it has sparked my daughter's desire for a Gibson Explorer or Les Paul Standard! smile

@Hovedan, it's always a pleasure to see you mate, Custard is in very good hands and you are truly a mad b@gger as you led the convoy along the A21... Custard looked and sounded awesome. Do the words "speed limit" mean anything at all to you? smile

@Pondman, Ross it was great to meet you, how long have you been fighting OCD mate? wink (I only say that due to the inch perfect way Ross arranged the Coupes, though I think it's fair to say that we looked the best display).

@AndyEssex it was great to meet you mate, I will definitely keep an eye out for your Coupe in future and thanks for the Choccy bar... (Now what was it my mum said about accepting sweets? LOL)

@petep, your knowledge of cars is awesome, I really enjoyed walking round looking at the other cars with you, in fact I could happily pick your brains for another week. Needless to say your 16vt looked and sounded awesome. (On the overrun I swear it "barked"). And if no one has seen a de-wipered rear Coupe, seeing Pete's has persuaded me, it really does tidy up the rear end.

@Thunderbox, again it was great to meet you, any time you want to swap coupes I am game wink yours is a credit to you. I hope you do make that trip to Italy and tour round in a rag top. Oh and your wife wants the new Fiat 500 Rag top btw smile

@ST212, great meeting you (and the other half), Looks like your Coupe was a bargain and has a good owner. Remember I want to know how the Canon camera works out.

@the man in the other sprinty, it was great meeting you too, though I didn't catch your name. Your car looked great too.

Everyone I met was great, the owner of a Zagato bodied Lancia, (Ex-MOD and a bit secret servicey) was another highlight, in fact all in all it was a great day spoiled only by some awful weather. If you haven't been to a Coupe meeting yet, you really should make an effort as it really was a great day.

Dave, Pete was instantly on my case to get it done as soon as we arrived tongue It was down to my usual annul retetive habits, that achieved the desired effects (colour arrangement & layout ) But it did look the Dogs wink
Best display by a long chalk and the flags realy topped it off. Couldn't have done it if it hadn't had been for the fine selection of Coops though smile

Re: Tunbridge Wells Italian Car & Bike Show + Fair - 06/09/2011 14:51

Ross, I'll get my wallet out and send some dosh to the Air Ambulance- we weren't stopped for a donation and would willing have done so!
Don't let the stewards of the bar grind you down!- first Abarth wheels, now Coupe Circles; both were good.

Mick- thanks for the kind words; your coupe is still a very desirable colour and very well presented- Jean does want a 500 Rag Top- maybe we should get that for next year's Italian Tour?!

Chris- sorry not to spend too much time chatting but being an axe victim myself I can sympathise with your son- tell him the Flying V is a great guitar but try playing it sitting down! I have one(of many!!!) and it's great!

Dan- lovely to meet you and your Good Lady- forgot to thank you for the fuel cap bling! Another piece of the perfect Coupe jigsaw complete and only 1,000,000 pieces left to find, buy and install- see you all again soon.
