Next London Curry Club? - 20/10/2006 17:28

Okay so I stole this from the SXOC forum.. but i'm wondering if there are enough of us that would be interested in going for a pint then a curry one night at a venue in the London Area. (Possibly brick lane as it's close to Liverpool St and the home of east london curries.)

So if you fancy a bit of balti magic, post below.

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 20/10/2006 18:34

I'd be interested, living in the docklands and always down brick lane anyway!

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 20/10/2006 21:18

I would be interested but am working away for the next 4 or 5 weeks, but after that, yep

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 20/10/2006 23:15

i grew up in that area.

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 21/10/2006 15:11

Are some of you planning on driving there??

If that's the case i'll see if i can rethink a curry location (still in London) but a little more car friendly.

Posted By: JimO

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 21/10/2006 16:21

I'll be training it, no point in going for a curry if copious amounts of Cobra are not being downed as well (or is that just me )
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 21/10/2006 16:48

You're not alone JimO... I gotta get at least 5 pints to put those flames out

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 21/10/2006 18:19

i wouldnt mind kenno. i heard there is a very nice curry place in clapham. just an idea.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 21/10/2006 18:45

hmmm kenno raises a good point drinking i think would be mandatory....lol
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: London Curry Club - Polling. - 23/10/2006 14:43

alessandro - clapham is great for me but i fear it's not the easiest place for everyone to get to.

So I suggest that the venue should still brick lane, minutes from Liverpool street and i've just remembered a diamond place to park!

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Calvert+Avenue,+Hackney,+Greater+London,+E2&ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=51.526234,-0.076261&spn=0.020132,0.058579&om=1

Calvert avenue is free to park on after 6:30pm IIRC.

When would be a good day/date for everyone? I'm pretty flexible on this.

sorry never thought about that. im pretty flexible too.

wed 8th for me

Re: Wed 8 Nov? London Curry Club - 24/10/2006 20:06

Ladies allowed too..

I'll keep the 'date debate' open to see how many can/can't make the 8th then make a call.

At the top of brick lane there is a fantastic 24hr bagel shop which does the best salt beef and mustard bagels. A winner if you haven't had enough curry to soak up all the beer!

That said I can't be out too late that night either. Just pencilled myself in for a trip to Stealth Systems the following day so I've got to be in southampton for 9am.. and preferably not stinking of booze and womens perfume.

Looks like i'll be leaving the Tequila shots at the *ahem* gentlemans club for another day.

there's (or at least used to be) a pitcher and piano very close to the tube station if you're into your big chain pubs, there's alot of good things to recommend about this place, although beer isn't necessarily one of them

Sorry....have to bail like a cheap hooker too :O

Am in Farnborough today and have a 6pm meeting so making Brick Lane by any reasonable time is proving slightly difficult, even in a Coupe

Defo up for a raincheck though if this becomes a regular thing....that's London curry club as oppsoed to lots of people dropping out

Hope whoever turns up has a good time and don't get banned from any local pubs or good food places

Re: Wed 8 Nov? London Curry Club - 09/11/2006 21:08

JimO - We didn't make the curry as i thought it was just going to be myself and Che. My housemate was telling me about some samba night at a brazillian place in town so we headed on there. A couple of caprihini's followed by lots of brahma and the night was a good un.

I'll try to organise another curry night... and actually go for a curry.

EDz - hey now.. your ace cafe has it's own thread. (I'll see you there tonight BTW)

Ken, good to meet you, great company, great bar, and the view wasn't too bad either!

Did feel a littel slow the following morning though........

Guy's, if you meet up for this next time, I suggest you let Kenno lead you astray.

Likewise. Good to meet you too Che. I was suffering the next morning with not having eaten the night before!

That 6am alarm call was not the nicest thing and I'm glad you enjoyed the night. Next one in aberdeen eh?!

London xmas drinks with possible curry involvement - 16/11/2006 16:37

With the festive season just around the corner, it's about right that we try and organise a few drinks together with a possible curry/thai meal thrown in for good measure.

I'm thinking central London, possibly soho unless anyone has any better ideas. Date will to be confirmed but since HRH won't be back from Rome for at least another week perhaps sometime early December would be good.

How are friday nights?

p.s. That's 3 pints now JimO.

Cheeky Sod

I can't make 4/5/6 of December, any other time I am free, unless of course I get a better offer or decide to come back to Rome for more pizza

The return of the Curry night in London. - 21/04/2007 15:02

As Kenno owes me so many beers, the only way I can figure to get the cash out of his grubby little wallet, converting it to lager and drinking it is by organising a curry night.

So, reading through the thread it seems most people were up for Fridays. So as a start what about May 11th, this is the only date I can make otherwise its June for me.

Any interest?
