Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation?

Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 12/09/2007 15:23
Now I've just about got everything I wanted done to the LE sorted, I could do with having a fuelling check.
I'd like to go to Powerstation late October or November sometime so they can see what the car's developing and make sure the fuelling is OK.
I'll be booking a date shortly.
Anyone else fancy coming to keep me company?

If you do a Saturday, you might want to try setting up a group rolling road session with PowerStation - they've always been well-attended
I'd certainly be up for a Saturday

Lovely - lots of interest.
Its unlikely to be a Saturday to be honest - I'm too busy with the kids.
A weekday would be best for me - most likely a Friday (or possibly Tuesday).
I have Friday 27th October free at the moment and that should give you a while to got your rad sorted Mike.
Who's in for Friday 27th Oct then?

This is a good incentive to get it all sorted Nick. See you there hopefully.
Right, I'll call tomorrow and book us a slot. I'll say 5 or 6 cars as a provisional booking. They're always fairly flexible on the numbers so we can change the numbers without and hassle - even on the day I think.

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 24/09/2007 14:37
OK. I've made a booking for 5 cars for 9.00am on Friday 2nd November. They seemed to have plenty of space so squeezing a few more in or shifting the time shouldn't be a problem.
The 5 I had in mind are;
1) JAP
2) MCMike
3) dave_t
4) cheesy
5) nick_d
I've left knowlesi and Nigel off for the time being as I know weekdays might be a bit of a problem. Flea, just let me know.
Please let me know if theres any probs and I can ring and adjust as necessary.
Directions and phone numbers are to be found here
http://www.powerstation.org.uk under the MORE DETAILS tab. The booking is under my name - James Perks.
Anyone else want to join in?
Nearer the time it would be good to arrange a convoy down there - maybe starting at Bassetts Pole for us Midlanders?

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 25/09/2007 02:00
Runs with a fuelling check are about £25 as I recall.
I've done a route calculation on the AA site and it recons Tewkesbury to Burton is just under 1h 30min. So theoretically you could be off the rollers for 9.30 and back by 11. All theory of course. Go on Proccy!

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 03/10/2007 01:19
I've got a mate who's willing to come along with his MR2 turbo as well if thats ok? I'll give them a ring tomorrow to add us in if thats ok.
Runs with a fuelling check are about £25 as I recall.
Just been looking on their site and it says it's £58 for a power run - is the above the price for a group booking or something? Do you only get the one run or do they run it twice for that, as i know cars always perform better the second time.

I'm interested in coming to this. Room for one more?

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 05/10/2007 14:20
Cheers Tob.
I've just called powerstation and made the booking for 6 cars (to include you). They say power runs are £40(+vat) each for a booking of this size. Cash helps as well. From my experience though, if you speak to them nicely enough or point out there might have been a problem, then I've seen lots of people have 2 runs. Myself included.
Stuart - yes lots and lots of room. You'd be most welcome to come along. Please just call them and add yourself to the list.
Damn - Sorry Tob, I didn't add your mate to the list. Would you mind giving them a ring?

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 19/10/2007 18:12
Problem - it looks like my car wont be back from the bodyshop before the 2nd Nov.
I was told the job would take about a week. I've just been to pay them a visit (they've had it a fortnight) and its very likely it will be 2-3 more weeks.
As much as I'd like to attend this, the finish on my car comes first. I dont want to push them.
So, enjoy yourselves. I might make it yet, you never know

TomTom says it'll take an hour from Bassets Pole to Powerstation and I guess it'll take a little longer than this because of the traffic (TomTom's route goes round the M42 to the M5).
So is 7:30am at Bassets Pole too early?

Re: Anyone want to accompany me to Powerstation? - 02/11/2007 19:05
Just back from Powerstation ... only cheesy and myself were there, but they were good enough to keep a reduced price (they were expecting 6 coupes!).
We both had power runs with a good result for cheesy (I'll let him post that himself
) but problems for me
I'll start a new thread in tuning, but the main issue was that I was running lean just as the turbo spooled up (2.5-3k) and so the guys wouldn't do a full power run
Better to find it out now rather than the engine going BOOM, so I'm glad in that respect - just disappointed overall
Edit:
Thread started, and help appreciated
