Rolling Roads in Ireland - 01/08/2006 22:45

Are there any? Are there any worth using? After 6 years of coop ownership I might finally mod my coop

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 07/08/2006 21:21

Ive heard alot of good things about westward. I am thinking of taking a run down with yellow_coop to see about getting a Unichip fitted as they're one of the only official Unichip dealers in Ireland.

I use East Coast Customs who have worked on both mine and yellow_coops cars so at least they've a bit of experience of working with the coop.

Assuming nothing bad is revealed at this session, I'll be on the rollers again at ECC on Sep 15th to get my Greddy fitted Did you get your fuelling issue sorted out Ally?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 23/08/2006 04:44

Hopefully sorted next week, I hope (touch wood ). September 15th, hhhmmm a Friday. Will see if I can sort something with work and head down. What time where you thinking?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 23/08/2006 06:48

Haven't sorted an exact time with ECC, probably early in the morning. I'll almost certainly be back up to them in October the get the PA FMIC fitted, probably on a Saturday - so that might suit better?

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 28/08/2006 15:01

FYI, I've just found out that there's a RR 2 mins walk from my house in Dublin - it's on Nottingham Street in North Strand. Their workshop have also just rebuilt a 20VT!

... em, well it's turned out to be a rolling road of sorts ... they couldn't keep my std. coop on the rollers due to wheelspin but they fixed my fuelling problem, are a nice bunch of guys and were very complementary about my coop

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 01/09/2006 02:12

Sweet!! Your Coupe tried to escape from the RR
What was the fuelling problem David??

I'm putting up my results tonight, I've been off sick since Sunday
(and no it wasn't from the match, I didn't even see it, I was that ill!)

I wish it was due the awesome power of my coop
Fuelling problem was down to some perished pipes
Don't worry about missing the match, it was ruined by a dodgy referee ... we were robbed

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 01/09/2006 04:27

Maybe , but I think Mayo finally copped on to attack in the last 15 mins, instead of defending and hanging on for the final whistle and losing yet again!!

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland - 01/09/2006 05:07

Go on David very good find with a RR and somebody who has just built a 20VT so close to you .

Well whats the results?

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland (new one) - 07/09/2006 04:26

New firm with a rolling road just opened 2 units down from Linnane's workshop in Rathnew. Couldn't get in as they had a jumbo dog (half wolf, half donkey) wandering around that hadn't been fed for a week. Don't know anymore about them: Various scruffy old Japanese power wagons dotted around but not a soul in the place so no prices etc.

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland (new one) - 07/09/2006 16:06

i'll bring my yorkie/russell down to sort out their wolf/donkey - he's only 2kg, but viscious! Nice location for a RR, hope it turns out to be good.

I have not heard good things about this tuning shop, www.trackdayperformance.com

I know Turbo-Tech in Bray always use them but Linnane's have always told me to stay clear of them,

Any idea if they're good at mapping? Might be paying them a visit for a Unichip.

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland (new one) - 12/10/2006 17:34

David have you found a rolling road that checks boost pressure during the session?
I have a boost gauge fitted 3 weeks now and it's reading the max boost 1.1 bar.

I got the fiat code number for that pipe( the one you run the boost gauge off) that Martin at Westward told us to keep an eye on if case it cracks.

It's part no. 46468079 and costs €8.99.
I'm keeping the boost gauge on till the meet, so you can check out the boost for me and then it's coming off the car!

1.1bar that doesn't match up with your RR result. The RR I'm using at the moment is in Lisburn - so it's a bit of a trek.

Edited to say: if I had to guess, I'd say you've got a novitec chip or something. If you remove the 10mm bolts on the ECU cover and pull out the metal box, you'll see straight away whether someone has opened it before (from the condition of the metal tab thingys!).

Edited again to say: the other strange thing about your result is that you seem to lose power quite early (at 5k rpm), I would have thought your torque curve would have held steady to 5.5k or more - this could be down to the EBV (hopefully not the turbo!). A PRV should smooth out your spike and maybe get you up to 260 BHP if it can convince your turbo to hold on to that nice torque you have a bit longer!

John Linanne doesnt know his arse from his elbow and wouldnt have a clue what he would be looking at if he was to try and service a trackday or race car and its engine. So shut up with the bullsh*t here.

Can I ask you something?Have you actually had 1st hand experience with Robbie and Trackday Performance or spoken to the man in person?Probably not.

Merely listening to bullshit talk from others who have nothing better to do.

Well dont believe what other people tend to warble on about.People talking alot of sh*te about Robbie. Why?Because hes that good at his job that it makes others sick to see him succeed.Alot of jealous and bitter people out there that just talk crap about others.

Robbie and Trackday Performance are one of the best engine building/tuning and race car prep companies in Ireland.2500 bhp Dynapack dyno room in house along with full CNC machine shop facilities.

Robbie has built 3 turbocharged engines and looks after all of my race and road cars.Hes a very easy going and very sound man who knows about all engine turbo and n/a.

He also installs stand alone management systems and maps then for F3 cars,Rally cars (Dunlop Rally series Group N Evos,Scoobies,Modified RWD Escorts and Corolla,s etc etc) and fast road and trackday cars too.He also builds and prpes some very fast and powerfull Evos and Skyline GTR,s with over 700bhp in them.

I reccommend Trackday Performance to any Irish person on this forum.

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland (new one) - 16/06/2007 00:40

Well, when all the Northern Irish modified RWD Dunlop rally car boys and the Group N Rally Evo and Scoobie boys trailer their cars down from the North down to Rathnew to get mapped and dynoed by Robbie, that says something about his tuning/mapping skills and his service.

Top man,top company and top service too.

I will be down there tomorrow working on the 147 Cup race car.The back and inside of it is cut out now so its time for some serious measuring up and welding to start on it.

When you say live mapping, do you mean a custom EPROM?

Re: Rolling Roads in Ireland (new one) - 21/06/2007 03:09

He will take the car out on the road with the laptop hooked up to the car,if he feels it needs to be done this way, then he will dyno it and then he will do a custom map on the dynapacks to see what the best setup is for he car.So yes,a custom map designed to suit the car and its engine and modifications,if any.

Robbie will get the best from an engine, but keep it as relaible as possible.he will gladly disscuss this with you before any work is done.
