Knockhill - 15th April 2011 - 26/01/2011 01:50

Jackie from the Scottish Alfa Romeo Owners Club (SAROC) has once again kindly invited us (3 years in a row now?) for a joint trackday in Knockhill on the date above.

I assume that the cost for this year is the same as the previous years (£60/£30 for drivers and £10 for passengers) and the times are all the same...5.30 pm.

Interested parties can contact Jackie at sarocmembership@yahoo.co.uk

?

How does this work? Trackday for £60 or £30, and at 5.30pm when it's dark?!?

Can you shed some light on this? Boom tish laugh

Thanks!

£60 for 1 driver
£30 for additional driver

5:30pm in April, it won't be dark, clock's have gone back, plus another month, so guess it would be dark around 7 - 8pm tongue

Exactly what Begbie said smile

From previous years, we started at about 6pm and were on track till about 8pm.... So plenty of track time wink

Shame this is the week after our first race

A bit too much of a trek for just a 2 hour window. £60 for 2 hours versus 130 for 8 hours at Donny? Pricey!

More demanding circuit though. Donny is one of my favourites but getting the hang of kockhill * is...... crazy

*speaking only from gaming experience and watching Touring Cars there smile

Knockhill is more full-on than Donny - there's almost no rest. The only thing that it lacks, IMO, is a truly fast corner. Duffus is fun but doesn't quite have the same excitement as the Craners

Re: Knockhill - 15th April 2011 - 02/02/2011 12:33

I'll be there - costs are as previous.

Drivers briefing @ 17:30
Track time 18:00 - 20:00

£60 for drivers, £30 for any additional driver
£10 for passengers

You'll need your drivers license and a helmet (although you can hire them at the track).

I might come up but probaly not with the car which is now in full race mode. Doing the Scottish Saloons this year if anyone is nearby on a sunday or watching motors tv.

What dates Marco?

I dont believe there would be an issue running a race car on the evening, if you fancied it.

Cool - give me somebody to cheer for in that series - generally it's a bit dull with such small grids. One of my colleagues occasionally races a 7-esque machine in it - but only car in that class

Check SMRC dates on KH's website. First one is the 10th April.

It looks like there will be a bit better mix in the grid this year with a few new names, me included in there to shake up the usual suspects.

We will eventually get a chat after a long wait.

Cool - yes - be good to catch up.

The Classics look to be even better supported than ever - might split the classes into two races more often this year. At least 4 Alfas in the field - maybe even 5 if the Giullietta gets back out. 3 Suds will hopefully give the anticipated Fiestas a run for their money.

I'm convoying down with a few people, leaving from Stonehaven around 3 o'clock. Is it MattM's old LE that you are driving now?

I saw your car briefly - yes, I was there but my engine broke during testing (cracked liner....again) so wasn't racing. Need to get the engine built by someone different so won't be out again until Cadwell at the beginning of June.

How was your race weekend?
