20v as a donor?

20v as a donor? - 16/11/2015 09:00

Thinking of buying this as a short term runaround and subsequent donor vehicle for my 20vt. Are there any major differences between this and my turbo version?

Thanks

Lots of differences. But depends what parts you want.

It has different:

Steering rack
Clutch
Gearbox
Brakes (front)
Wheels
Suspension i think
Intake system
Radiator
Plenum

The engine has a few differences too apart from the obvious lack of turbo and intercooler and oil cooler.

If you are looking for bodyparts, interior etc. it will do, but technically there are more differences than you would expect.
Engine is also situated differently in the enginebay an therefor some auxillaries are different as well

But a very pleasant car to drive smile

Bit disappointing to here you're thinking of breaking a perfectly good 20v with MOT .I thought our aim was to keep these cars on the road, not dissect them . banghead

The plan would of been to run both in tandem. The 20vt as a track day/weekend driver and the 20v as a daily runner. I was hoping the parts were more interchangeable. Still may buy the 20v as daily driver because I love the colour and styling. Don't write the obituary just yet.

Yep, I'm using a 20v NA as a daily driver. Quite a sensible car really.
