Anyone know this car in Luton?
At £1450 it looks a good deal.

Those wheels are so small as to be laughable, particularly by todays standards!

Shame it's not a turbo as it looks pretty smart otherwise!

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 12/07/2012 10:50

One of the few VIS cars I've seen with airbag seats, must have been emptying the parts bin?

If you are seriously considering it then thoroughly inspect the areas prone to rust as it seems the metal got thinner and/or the galvanisation process wasn't as good on the later cars. It seems counter-intuitive but it does seem to be the case that the younger cars are often suffering worst from rust issues....

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 12/07/2012 21:24

The rust issue isn't confined to fiat's, my VW from this period has far more rust than my coop which is 17 next month. As for Mercs at this age many are rust buckets!

I'd prefer a turbo but will I notice a big difference given my 16vt has done more than twice the miles and is older?

Looks like a moony to me.

It is a late facelift model VIS (no turbo) in Moon grey, late cars didn't come in Grigio Steel.

Looks very good for the money

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 17/07/2012 17:02

It does look a nice (and well priced) car.

Could be a Moon, but is it WHITE!!!

Looks like an absolute bargain love

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 17/07/2012 17:53

It is indeed Moon Grey

Two things i noticed:

Passenger rear quater, just above the wheel there is a fairly big ding

also driver side bonnet there looks like a big ding on that as well.

NAs are generally cheaper so dont get too excited by the price. Its a lot of car for the money providing its sound mechanically.

Mario,
looks a lot lighter than my VT6; hope it is just my eyes.... or the camera.

A Moon VIS must be pretty rare love

definitely agree that its looks light in the photo, but im pretty sure its not white - i would love to be proved wrong though laugh

Mario have you seen this car or can see the dents in the picture? If so you've got bloody good eyesight!
I'm coming up to Herts next month, if it's still there I'll check it out.

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 17/07/2012 23:40

From the photos, there doesn't seem enough blue in it to be moon grey which is a non-metallic colour anyway.

I have the bumper off one at home and it is quite different.

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 18/07/2012 08:56

It doesn't look quite right, the pictures seem to foreshorten it, maybe wide angle lens, perhaps affecting the colour too, maybe a re-spray.

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 18/07/2012 09:27

I'm trying to persuade Mrs Stan to divert after a funeral next week to go and have a look at this. It's a rare car, the panel fit looks good in the photos, maybe a bit too good! laugh

Be very interested to see this one "in the metal" and then watch Mrs Stan reduce the salesman to a quivering wreck with her bartering technique! box

It's worth a punt at a grand......! wink

Just one thing worries me; no engine bay pictures confused

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 18/07/2012 09:39

Engine bay might shed some light on the colour!
Is it possible to get the colour from DVLC from the number plate?

It would be but it has now disappeared from Autotrader, hope it hasn't been sold? frown

Re: Silver x reg on autotrader - 18/07/2012 09:50

Oh, and the chances are DVLA would either say silver or grey but that can cover either, trust me, as it depends on what the dealer puts on the original form.....

At £1450, the silver Turbo in Arundel looks good. Only 76k miles too. Anyone know that one?

PeteP your bumper is crono grey (aka primer) that's why it is different.
