Hi Everyone!

As you can see, I'm new to the forum so I wanted to introduce myself smile

My name's Dave, and I first came across the Coupe when I was reading Autocar in 1996:

However, at the time I owned a 1.8 16V Renault Clio, and even though I was tempted change for a 20VT Coupe, more than anything I wanted a Clio Williams. So, in 1998 that's exactly what I did, and I still have the car to this day click to enlarge

Now though, I'm looking to compliment the Clio with a 20VT Coupe. I'm looking for one which has been well looked after and in excellent condition. I'll post further details in the 'Wanted' section, but for now.....Hello!!!

Cheers,
Dave

Hiya Dave wave

Nice looking Williams you have there, I always fancied one of these but found being 6'4" a slight issue with such a small car.

Happy hunting for a Coupé, take your time and buy a solid one, please laugh

Re: Hi! - 04/05/2016 21:00

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone! thumb

The Clio has just ticked over to 51,000 miles. I've kept it in pretty good condition over the years and it only comes out now for short runs. For example, it recently went for an MOT and it had done just 56 miles in the last year laugh

As for a Coupe, well I've started reading all the information on the site (congrats to everyone who has contributed, as it appears VERY comprehensive!) and I'm coming to the conclusion that rust is a big killer (isn't it always on older cars), and anything which has been treated with less than full care and attention could easily be a money pit.

Ideally, I'll go for an LE or Plus, but a tidy 20v Turbo would also be a goer. Having had a quick look through ebay and Gumtree, then this looks like the best on offer

Is there anywhere else I should be looking which may throw up other choices?

Also, I'm based on the Lincs/Cambs border so I was wondering if there are any interesting clubs/meets which would be worth attending.

Thanks for your help smile

Re: Hi! - 06/05/2016 17:46

Thanks for all the replies guys! - I'm after an original (as standard as possible) low mileage coupe (the silver one doesn't do it for me in that respect), so I'll post a wanted ad and see what turns up.

Cheers.
