Hi all,

I am proposing organizing a big meet here in Mid-wales to take in the splendor that is the Elan Valley (http://www.elanvalley.org.uk/home/)

There has been a coop meet here a few years ago before I was an owner. I am proposing that anyone in Wales (as its central) and the midlands and border counties consider making the journey, but is of course open to all!

I was part of a fantastic Mazda 323f meet up there a few years ago (my brother owned one), with a visitor all the way from north Scotland! Here is a link to their forum with the phots/vids and feedback of the day. http://www.club323f.com/club323f/forum/v...c&start=330

I have worked out a great route and plans for breakfast, meeting places, car cleaning facilities etc.

It's all an idea so far but if the interest is there I will press ahead and make firm arrangements.

An idea of dates would be maybe in October to whisk away the autumnal blues.....

I also thought that maybe we could make it an annual event and can get t-shirts/hoodies done at a very good price (something along the lines of 'FCCUK Meet Elan Valley 2009' with fccuk logo and some sort of representation of the place itself, hoodies would be £20 approx) if deemed a success. I just think creating our own owners event that gathers together many owners from across the UK would be really great. I know it can be done because it has been done!

The photo opportunities and scenery will blow you away, as will the roads getting there and around the reservoirs themselves.

Agreed, I'm pretty pleased with the numbers interested so far in one evening, it would be good if we could really drum up some more interest. If Oct is too early then November? Cold mind!

What do people think of the hoodie/tshirt idea?

My thinking was to maybe have a road map of elan valley in the same vein as the nurburgring logo

I'd probably be up for this too. I'll not speak for Ross of Gareth this time. Any date is OK for me, as I can flex work around it.

Well I went up there again this weekend to see if there was anything else we could do, I'd definitely still want to do this but the hardest part is picking a date we can (mostly) all agree on.....

I am up for this too. My dates are pretty open at the moment, only one out for me is the 22nd November. With enough notice the rest should be do-able.

Apologies for my absence here on FCCUK for quite a while.

I would be off work for 2 weeks over xmas so I can put a bit more effort into this, should everyone be up for an xmas period meet........an idea of numbers and suitable dates (i'm assuming maybe after xmas day, but how soon, between xmas and new year?) would be needed pretty soon...

I've talked to my local golf club who would be able to host us either for a meeting spot and breccy in the morning before going up to elan valley or maybe for lunch or evening meal afterwards.

Failing that I know the staff very well at Crossgates service station as a great starting point for the day.

I remember when we had about 9 coupes on wales meet and it was amazing.

I'm defo selling up next year and i'd really would love to attend a decent meet before she goes.

Why don't you sort it then? What's stopping you from organising something?

Hi guys, I will finish work on fri and will try confirming a date over the weekend bit aiming for a day between Xmas and new year or on thw weekend immeadiatley after new year. Work this year has totally overwhelmed me, apologies so for my lack of contact, hardly been on fccuk!

I just have'nt got the time to sort it,

and regardless of who organises it, generally come the day of the meet there is just me and Matt.

i can help with another coupe. ready and waiting in hereford. just had new tyres,tracking and replaced my drop links this morning. ready to burn. lovely road from elan valley to aberistwith!!!!!!!

loads of great roads round there the fun lasts all day!

need to make date before the 4th. saturdays are good all the coppers are in the towns watching piss heads. sundays do my head in to many 40 mph sunday drivers stopping to look at sheep,also to many bikers holding me up in the courners. bloody power rangers!!!

Any time after pay day is fine for me the car wont feed its self, and nor will I if I put any more fuel in her this month

Weather update. Wales is about to get a foot of snow on Tuesday, with no chance of a thaw until the following week!
