Yesterday was an interesting day at Crail. I arrived to sign on around half nine and then it started to rain but thankfully it was a fairly light shower, but this made the surface rather greasy to say the least. Especially with R888's.

Anyway it dried out later and then I started putting in some decent times, 13.5 and then I stopped - as I'd qualified for the shoot out. I reckon high 12's were on the cards but there was no point in pushing her anymore at this point.

Then the heavens opened. \:\(

Crail in the wet with R888's on through puddles is not a pleasant experience I can tell you. My first shoot out was easy ;\) but my next one was against a Corsa 2.0 Turbo which ran 12.4 in the dry.... \:o \:o

His time - 15.649

My time - 15.588

But his reaction time was quicker so he won, which is totally fair but I think I gave him a fright. ;\) He then lost to the Nova that won it - top blokes by the way. My time, in the wet at least, was quicker than Russ Paton's time so if I'd gone up against him I may well have made the final....who knows.

The Nova, Corsa and Russ' Astra are all stripped out whereas all I stripped out was my tools. Still fully loaded, and running over half a tank.

I think the Coupé might have surprised a few folk...

No tools in the car eh? So who was driving? \:D \:P

Good show, I can imagine how horrid Crail must be in the wet it's blooming rough enough in the dry!

From my only experience of Crail I find it hard to imagine it was warm enough for rain,it`s the coldest place on this planet IMO.

I *erm* had left my Greddy on low boost and was frantically trying to change to high boost when it was dryer. \:D

No Ross, I've still got my mechanical sympathy. \:P

I'm looking forward to the next event now, just to try something out. ;\)

the Q+ has loads more potential ie launch control, switchable maps with phone etc etc.

Either launch control or he'll be trying to use his phone as he's hammering up the strip. \:D

I dont think so. I saw his car today and it drove along without collapsing into a big pile of scrap metal.
