Ok, after the long and ultimately fruitless previous thread, I thought I'd kick-start this one again. It seemed as though a weeknight meet was more popular than a weekend one.

So how about:

Tuesday 8th July
White Hart, Wytham (postcode is OX2 8QA)
6.30pm.
Meet, meal, chat, poke noses around engine bays, you know the score.

I'm flexible on the evening, but Tuesdays are best for me.

P.S. I'm thinking of also trying to organise a weekend meet sometime perhaps in September/October with a drive on some of the nice roads out towards Burford, Moreton etc.

Long way for me to come but might see if I can make it, can't see any nearer me in South Yorks. Would like to see some of the other cars from on here, bit of inspiration etc.

Always welcome though as you have said its a fair old trek for you.

You might want to consider the South Meet which will be much larger.

If you look at the old thread, opinion was pretty divided about whether a weeknight or weekend was best for a meet.

Maybe about 8pm go for a drive (disclaimer: drive, not race).

End drive at the McDonald's at Botley, where people who want McDs can get some. The McDonald's is nice and near the A34 for people to find their way home.

Go home (me to do some painting)

If your car is lowered, enter the car park by the first entrance, not the second one as you come up the road.

For those who don't know where it is:

If coming on the A34 NORTHBOUND: About 1/2 mile after the big exit for the A420 (Swindon, Oxford, Botley), there is a small, short sliproad for Wytham/Godstow - follow this around to the right and then Wytham is about a mile up the small country road. The White Hart is on the left as you go through the village.

If coming on the A34 SOUTHBOUND: Take the exit for A44 Oxford/Evesham (Peartree Interchange). At the roundabout take the second exit (first exit is the services).

At the next roundabout you'll need the 4th exit, signed 'Wolvercote'. Follow that road through Wolvercote, over the river past The Trout pub and then onto the next village of Wytham. The White Hart is on the right as you pass through the village.

If you get there after 6.30, you should see a dirty sprint blue 20VT with zender bumper and le skirts. That's mine. If I'm not in the car park, I'll be in the beer garden if the weather is good, inside if it's sh*te. Come with a red rose and a rolled up newspaper

I turned up at about 7pm and was the last of the group to show. By 9:30 we were leaving McDs for home.

Top fun. Some nice Coops with plenty of variety in the fly-by noises. Loads of double-takers and browsers when we were parked up too.

Certainly a success as now I've got to go look for one for Tracy!

Was good to meet people last night, nice to have a chat and a pootle down the 420. Was all good, maybe with the exception of the suicidal codger in the Primera on the A34 who seemed to think that he could pull off the hard shoulder from standstill with no indication about 100 yards in front of oncoming traffic.

Luke - your car is very nice, mate. Anyone looking for a tuned Coupe who didn't buy that missed out.

@ kj - sorry you turned up and there was no one there - I did post further up on this thread to say we would be leaving the pub around 8 and I PM'd you my mobile number.

Thanks for organising the meet Simon - pub was a great choice and we managed to get away with the weather!

Whenever for me. nrenz123 was talking about £30 per day 1/4 and 2 mile runs on an airfield at ... somewhere or other. I forget! Sounds like you can get loads more in than at the 'Pod. I'm well up for that anytime.

I think that was a once a year at Brize Norton.

Is monthly over the summer too often? Could sort something out for the first week in August on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening?

If it wasn't for the colour and the bodykit, I would have snapped this one up the week before. As it was it took me too long to decide to take it and I gave Luke the chance to view first. It is now my personal mission to get my coop faster and better than this car

From std Coop in average condition and and mileage, I reckon you're going to need £4K ontop of the price of the car then...
