Hello everyone,
I’ve been reading a lot saying that after fitting a GTEC chip the car needs to be checked for fuelling? So over Christmas I was planning on getting her on the rolling road to see if everything is set up as it should be, plus I’d like to know exactly what she’s putting out – everyone asks and I can only give an estimate.
Thing is I live just up the road from a certain garage (am I allowed to say its name?) which I know has a RR, however I've also heard a few dodgy stories about it. A friend of mine recommends one in Ellon; apparently he’s used them a few times and they are clued up. They specialise in Jap cars but would they be able to check mine or is it something best saved for some one with experience with the Coupe?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but just seeing what you all think…….
Cheers in advance
Mike

I had a few reservations about using the ‘certain garage’ too, but realistically as long as they’re not actually mapping it for you and you set the boost levels so they’re safe then it’s not that far removed from you caning it on the road. Certainly they seemed ok when I was there and they advised Matty he was running a bit lean and wouldn’t allow him to do a second power run. Just make sure your car is in good shape before you take it there and all should be ok. Similarly with the Ellon garage, I’ve heard both good and bad things about them.
I’ll see if Matty can sort something out as I wouldn’t mind running mine again as it’s got the Gtech2 in it now and I know he wanted another go. He knows Gavin quite well.

Well to be honest Im new to the Coupe and as much as I can tell shes running fine. Had a look over her, check the oil levels and that. Any Coupe friendly garages up near here I should go get a check up? If you were planning to go again Id def be up for coming along too, be good to meet to local members.

Yup he'll be fine for a power run and I could be tempted to run again. As B says there's bad reports for every RR operator it would seem, but if it's just a power run and not mapping it would be fine. They are used to mapping Evo's it would seem which are very high fuelling machines. ^^And as above I would strongly recommend doing a compression test first .

Good to hear you taking her on the rollers Mike. Nice to here she's in good hands I'm very interested to see what type of power my old steed is pushing and would be grateful if you would keep me posted? Dan

RR some time over xmas. If any of the Aberdeen lot are fancying it in the next month or so it would be a good to meet you all and make a day of it? Cheers Mike

Just to bring this thread back alive, can we have a possible list of coopsters for a Rolling Road day.
If we get enough numbers, over ten I think it is, we could have Wallace Performance for a Sunday. If necessary I can get some other guys but I'd like it to be as many coops as possible. I'm thinking end of February start of March, any thoughts?
Cheers

Well..... I used "dashfixer" for my rolling road recently. They have the ability to video the run and also run a live webcast to allow people on the FCCUK or anywhere else to watch. They usually charge £40 (which is cheap for dastek rollers) but will do us £30 if we get 10 coupes (or otherwise) to attend. I think this is a pretty good offer. They are based near glasgow airport (but not too close ) so easily accessable. This do-able? Ross

Hi there, friend of mine is getting a Dastec rolling road installed in a few weeks time in Dalry Ayrshire if anyone fancies a rolling road day. He's a clever guy. He does performance LPG conversions, along with building mad stuff like supercharged Micra's and Cosworth MX5's. Really nice guy to deal with as well.

Ah pop your car on Craig, would be good just to make sure she's fueling correctly. Don't worry, I'll put det cans on as well if you're worried.
Price, well hopefully about the £30 mark, maybe cheaper if I can get the numbers.
