1998 ink black 20vt. i got it for £1600. its not the best example, no service history apart from some mot certificates and a belt change which i got done at motormech. its an import. the first owner bought it in italy and drove it to england.

its in pretty good condition..a few scratches on the body work but nothing major. the engine holds 3 bar when cold and when above 2k rpm and on hot idle its never below 2 bar. the seats are a bit worn but not too bad.

the only major things are its pretty smokey on startup, only started happening after i changed the oil to 10w 50 fully synth oil but im guessing its the turbo.still pulls fine and never smokes on boost or hot idle. the second thing is it has a stuck sparkplug. it was changed in a garage before i got it but the plug just turns now. wont come out.

i think the head might have to come off to get it out. ive always seen this as a good chance to get some head work done and get a better turbo but i really cant afford this anymore.

i really dont want to get rid of the car. ive taken good care of it but its just too expensive now.

im hoping for around £1000 for the car if anyone will have it. im not sure about selling/getting rid of it just yet because i need to find a smaller car first. just would like to get an idea of the value.

thanks alot.

Joe

With the head issue and the smoky turbo your guess is possibly about right.

Hmmm, mileage puts people off which is silly they need to look at the car and the jobs it's had done to it. Problem is if the head needs to come off then it might be a case of replacing the belt again, although I'd be tempted to just replace the belt and leave the tensioners etc well alone.
