A friend of a friend is looking for a Coop and recently viewed a car in the North West. The reg is R251LCB. I haven't seen the car myself, but I have seen the AA report. Ordinarily these are taken with a pinch of salt, but in this particular case it's pretty clear this is a non-sale:

"Extensive repairs and repainting have been carried out around the bodywork of the vehicle.
The vehicle has been completely repainted on a panel by panel basis leading to a colour miss-match in places.
There are extensive filler repairs around the vehicle to the bonnet, roof, boot and rear panel.
The rear structure of the vehicle has been repaired at some point in the past.
It concerns me that there are filler repairs in the roof and in the screen pillars.

The quality of the repairs is very poor in some areas."

Pretty bad! Does anyone know the history of this car? I'm surpised something with such apparently obvious major repairs can be offered for sale.

Try and find out if its registered as a Cat C or D.

However, looking at what is currently available For Sale on this Forum, I'd give that one a wide berth and check out a FCCUK members coupe.

Well, exactly. That was my advice too. I just wondered if anyone here knew the car.

Just found the car on Pistonheads. The listing does not hint at any repairs.

If you look at the passenger side photo, you can see a colour mismatch between the door and the front wing.

Yep, looks kind of obvious doesn't it? The state of the seats would have deterred me from making the journey.

I guess he needs to start looking around again. He's looking for a straight 20v turbo/non-turbo ideally somewhere in the North West. Budget seems to be £4000-ish.
