Discussion thread for any questions. Couple of points for any one searching my post history (I know I'd check when buying one ) Posted technical issues 1) Injector light - Turned out to be a bad injector. All 5 injectors replaced 2) Cam Variator Fault + Others - Earth fault fixed by JBT 3) Intermittent smoke - started when JBT re-connected oil breather system (a pipe was damaged). Original NRV valve is knackerd so added a temporary NRV valve which isn't working so disconnected from Plenum and seems ok. Intake pipes have been taken off and no oil found. Brand new Hybrid turbo less than 6k ago, so turbo is fine!!

Perhaps an idea. I think you would give buyers more confidence if you added some of your own photos. IIRC those are from Patch's ownership? Brakes are spelt incorrectly too. Other than that good luck with the sale. A fine car.

The car is well known on the forum and has been seen by JBT very recently.
I spoke to Patch prior to using his photo's as currently the weather is crap and a final decision to advertise was only made at the weekend (raining), hence no up to date photos. The condition of the car has not changed and if anything has improved and I fully intend to take more pictures when the conditions permit.
Any one is welcome to view/drive the car to ensure the condition is as described.
If the only spelling mistake is brakes out of the indepth advert then I'm happy with that, however I will update to ensure my "spelling" is correct!

Fair Comments taken on board so be braving the rainy weather to get some up to date pics ASAP! GUT wrenching is not the word mate, doesn't feel real yet but if it sells, I'm really not lucking forward to the car being driven off! Everythings crossed that the missus can return to work sooner rather than later, and I can keep the coupe.......will be removed from sale if I can find another way! Do I need both kidney's ?!?

I'm not picking fault, Brett. Just a friendly word of advice. A newbie (to the forum) looking for a good Plus might be put off by the use of photos from a previous owner if they've seen them whilst doing their research.

Updated with loads of new pictures taken a few minutes ago. As I've said in the for sale section, just a quick jet wash, no polishing, waxing, trye shine, window clean etc however as you can see the car looks exactly as it did, even without alot of effort!!

Been to DVLA and arranged for private plate to be taken off so should be back on a W-Plate soon.
Now on Ebay/Pistonheads to drum up some interest as no fellow enthusiast found just yet.

I forgot how painful selling a car can be. Will you take 2k...NO Do you want to swap for a pimped out nova worth 1p....NO PX for a car with more miles than apollo 11....NO! tut tut tut......surely there has to be an ebay "knob head" filter available???? However on a positive note, its been good to have a chat to a few fellow enthusiasts who know the worth of this car. Price is now around the minimum I would take for the car as its got to be one of the best out there and I would rather cancel insurance, cash the tax in and put it under a cover round at my garage until I can afford to run it again! Come on people, any one wanting one of the most desirable coupes come and see it, as soon as you see it in the flesh you'll buy it......I DID!

Brett, suggest the storage idea - if you can afford it! She looks lovely and worth every penny (I already have two that I cannot afford ) . However you are trying to sell a special car in a recession when market prices are pants. I paid a total of £2600 for my two, but have spent nearly £8K since I bought my first one last May on getting them vaguely near the standard I want them to be at - the Moon VT6 STILL needs a respray and an upcoming MOT.... this does NOT include fuel, road tax and insurance (or cleaning materials). Apart from the respray on the Moon I am hoping that major expenditure will now be somewhere over the horizon, but I am not holding my breath and certainly not my wallet . Your machine appears well sorted, and all the big jobs have been done - unfortunately people tend not to take these things into account, and buy a cheap dog without knowing the consequences. Good luck mate... Tim

Hang in there Brett, personally, and I'm not trying to be awkward, I don't think you'll get what you want if you need to sell quickly. The market has dropped. I feel your pain, I think I made a loss of over £2.5K when I sold it to you! Coupe ownership eh!

I know guy's, and I could do with selling it but not desperate enough to sell it for silly money so I will keep it with out a shadow of a doubt...... I do love the dame thing, not in a sexual way, well may be just a little bit It owe's me over £1k already and not after getting my money back, just selling at what I would class as a reasonable price.......not even top dollar! Tim, your spot on and its a lesson I learned hence I bit Patch's arm off when I saw he had this one up for sale as it was like he'd just spent all his money getting it ready for me....Sorry Patch Just need a good excuse to tell the missus so I can keep it?!? Tried the "its a future classic" and she just said "its an old Fiat".......how bloody dare she!!

So, I'm the lucky chappy that bought the plus from Brett. I have to admit I took a punt on it, deciding to buy without first inspecting, but the description was of a car, despite the mileage, in great condition with a traceable history and I have wanted a 20VT for years. I finally reached the stage where my insurance is less than a mortgage payment so I can just about justify the cost. I was delighted with my purchase from the first moment, the drive from Sheffield to Holyhead and Dublin to Limerick got better by the mile, I had a big cheesy smile across my face for the entire journey. Anyway, this is my way of introducing myself as a new coupe owner and Forum member. The only negative so far is this weekend I lost all power above 3k rpm, i suspected the MAF so disconnected it, that made an improvement and allowed me to get home, I decided to clean the MAF and unfortunately I broke it, snapped the sensor filament , so now on the lookout for a MAF sensor. Cheers, Mossie
